Phillips booked and didn't the Brighton player call for it??I thought that was a yellow card?

We're definitely on the ropes here.

Decent point in the end. We had a couple of moments in the second half where, with the right pass, we would've been in but today everything was just a little off. We did grow in confidence and we'll continue to get better. Clarke had an impact when he came on, as did Ogbene.

Thought Hutchinson was poor today, several times he could have slipped a player in and failed, with what was a simple pass!!

We have now played the top 3 Prem teams and can take great heart from our performances.

Today, one or two were off their best game but our defense proved very resilient and hard to break down. Muric had an oustanding game but he must distribute better. Very impressed by Greaves and Tuanzebe. Clarke and Oddbins showed their touches of their class, but poor Luongo gave 3 passes to thin air.

3 pts lost by Btn and 1 valuable point gained on the road.

On to the Saints, with another week of the squad training together, this will be a chance for our 1st win.

How many of us predicted a draw apart from this old boy?

Excellent. It will click up front soon and we’ll be around mid table by the end of October.

Great point away against a very tough opponent, boy this league is a step up...the pressing and speed of passing unbelievable. We showed great resilience and pragmatism to stay in the game and even in the second half could have nicked it. I've seen enough in the Brighton and Fulhams games that gives me hope that we can grind results out but also grow into the league and improve.

Firstly I was shocked to see no Wolfenden in the squad, I thought he was outstanding against Fulham and we actually really missed his ability on the ball today...he's a major cog in our ability to beat the press something we didn't do really at all today. That's not to say the defence didn't play well because they really did. Was also shocked to see Burns start this one.

Muric made some outstanding saves and also showed a much better command of his box, however I find it odd that apparently we've brought him in because of his distribution, so far it seems like a real downgrade on Hladky and even Walton who I think is unfairly criticised for his distribution.

For me though I thought Tuanzebe was MoM, he defended against a tough opponent superbly. I wasn't particularly impressed with him last season and thought he might get released but he has been one of our most consistent players so far this season and was outstanding today.

Apart from the back 5 I wasn't particularly impressed with the rest of the team today, they weren't poor just the game seemed to pass them by somewhat and we lost the ball very easily, although that was partly due to the lack of time we were given by Brighton. I think it was our worst game on the ball so far this season. I don't think Hutchinson has quite hit his stride so far, he's made poor choices or not quite made the right pass or strong shot which he was doing at the end of last season. There were a few times today when he looked like he couldve done something and he lost the ball.

When Delap is able to turn and run, he takes some stopping, he can certainly make something out of nothing but I don't think he's still a cert starter I thought Hirst showed his qualities and you can see the difference between the 2 strikers. Hirst barely touched the ball but his work off the ball is brilliant, when we're both in and out of possession, he presses superbly, he makes great runs, occupies defenders and creates space for other around him. I feel our front 4 looks more cohesive with him in it, he brings the best out in others. Delap has been outstanding but they are different players, would be interesting to see them in the same team at some point.

I think those 3 subs got us more into the game and don't think it'll be long before we see Clarke in the team, I've been very impressed with his performances so far, he holds onto the ball so much better than our other forward players which is something we really needed today.

It'll be really interesting to see who McKenna picks for the next few games, a lot of big decisions now we are getting a few players back to fitness. It's great we have options however at some point you feel we will need to show some consistency in our line up.

    Another fine summary ptc!

    Here's what Btn fan thought:

Ipswich absolutely man handled brighton , unlucky for them to not get the win . Not many teams do what i’ve just watched to brighton . Fair play ipswich

Strong defensive performance and a good away point. Muric, Tuanzebe, and Greaves stood out for me, but it was a strong defensive display all around.

As Gaffer pointed out, we’ve played all of the top three away from home and haven’t looked massively out of depth. Encouraging signs week by week, and the new players seem to be adapting well. The fixture list looks a little more forgiving over the next month or so too. Real chance to get more points on the board and separate ourselves from the bottom three.
