Have the odds of a promoted team staying up dropped that much since 2012? Not that I was expecting us to
Diaz had the ball in his hands and gave it to Archer. Could just be coincidence that Diaz had picked the ball up as he was closest to it or whatever and Archer was the designated pen taker. Martin didn’t sound too happy after the game. Interviewer asked him if the long wait to take the pen put Archer off and he said it shouldn’t do and looked pissed off, then said he thought “Cam was fantastic today and the goals will come”
Dunno but the gap is bigger. More that it was obvious that our squad desperately lacks quality and goals.
I predicted 3-0 Utd and got it spot on. But I am a lot happier than a lot of you! I just think this team has potential- whereas the one that started at Brentford had none at all.
Jesus Christ if that is his definition of a fantastic striker performance we are fooked. I hope he was just protecting the player. For me we should be looking at tall paul again. No chance Archer is a PL striker on this performance. The United centre backs had the easiest day ever
Agree and regardless of what anyone thinks of Stephens’ playing ability he is NOT an inspirational captain. In fact, all of the current crop are far too quiet IMHO
I felt a bit sorry for Archer as we were playing as if we had a target man up front, kept playing it into his feet when one of the best centre backs in the world was marking him. Gave him no service that he could really use in play, obviously a **** penalty as well Hopefully the link up play can come as the players play in this new system and lineup. I’d definitely be ****ing Diaz off though, give Cornet a go wide left
The worst thing about our lack of goals so far is that it's going to be even more horrific when VAR takes one off us.
Looking at the positives. Who would want to be an Everton fan. Two matches where they lead 2 nil and they are now loosing 3-2 to Villa. I would rather be a Saints fan. At least we haven’t been ahead only to see it cruelly snatched away.
