Just popped on. Burnley were dreadful today. Not sure they will be top two contenders. Joseph missed a sitter. Gnonto should have scored. Looked a certain penalty to me. Gnontos shot looked goalbound until Joseph blocked it. Trafford made a really good save from range. Referee was dreadful. It looked like he'd been given instructions to **** us over at every opportunity. Burnley scored because Solomon slipped.
We were garbage and got exactly what we got. Only consolation to me was our supporters group were over. I obviously didn’t go so spared myself 500 euros to witness that shambles
International break does for Leeds yet again. I will say the team selection and subs were wrong again but in defence of Farke he was forced into taking players off who were playing for their countries a few hours ago. The positives were the form of Aaronson, Gnonto, Joseph and Solomon. All four were also unlucky not to score. Still not missing Summerville but maybe Rutter. The big negative is that any decent coach can play against FarkeBall all they need do is press and pack the defence. When Meslier is on the ball panic sets in and mistakes happen at the back. The press sees Leeds playing backwards constantly. High possession numbers are meaningless when much of the possession is in Leeds first third. A slight improvement this season as the team do try shooting from outside the box and Solomon gets his crosses in. All the talk of Leeds going top today exploded by Parker and his tactics. Yes Burnley rode their luck and if Joseph had scored in the first minute the game may have changed, but FarkeBall is too predictable and already we see a not very nice league table. I dont see promotion happening again with the present manager and wonder how long the owners will put up with disappointment pointless Eire blaming the players when they do what Farke has told them to do. Always remember some simplistic things Bielsa used to say. Pointless playing backwards as you cannot score if you go back. Attacking the goal is the only way to stop the opposition from scoring because if you have the ball they don’t….. seems opposite to what Farke thinks
Sorry doc. Blame lies with players first. They’re a bang average lot. The Farke haters will continue to blame him solely until he moves on and next coach does no better. We know only too well no top class coach will touch our setup much less succeed with it
In the first 5 minutes, we tip tapped the ball across the back line, Meslier over hit a pass for a dangerous throw in. Rodon then played himself into trouble. Parker knew what we do at the back and Burnley played to prevent it and put early pressure on. The 7th minute of added time Meslier touched the ball three times as the defence passed it amongst themselves. Farke ball is boring and non creative, their keeper commanded his area all game, snuffing out crosses and corners. Meslier is poor, our tactics are too negative, we have the players we don’t use them correctly, Burnley were poor but well organised.
All. Correct and how many times have we said the same for last four seasons. Farke only been there for one. Question. Let’s assume he’s sacked tomorrow. How long should we keep the next lad. Give him till end of season maybe. We sold everything bar the kitchen sink and may well pay the price if the replacements aren’t a country mile better than they’ve looked so far. Anyway thankfull I had two hours of great hurling this morning and don’t intend to analyse today’s fiasco anymore. Playing bottom team next week so presume we’ll stuff them
I suppose Brighton are **** because they drew with Ipswich. Liverpool are **** because they lost at home to Forest. Sunderland are now **** cos they lost at Rooneys Plymouth. It happens. Results often go against the grain of the match.
Sorry Doc, but have to disagree with this. “Farkeball” (if this is something that exists) is the tactic to press the opposition. This led to Joseph dispossessing the centre back, Farkeball wasn’t to blame for him going onto miss a sitter. Farkeball wasn’t to blame for Willy Gnonto not scoring from 5 yards out, nor is it to blame for Solomon slipping over. He can’t control the actions of the players in those situations, so I have to agree with Eire that it’s the players that should shoulder the responsibility for this defeat. Need more composure in front of goal.
We missed the boat in replacing him, we’re stuck with him for now, I just hope he can turn it around. He’s not the worst we could have, just a long way from the best
We don't have enough players that can change a game. For me, only Solomon has that ability. Last season, we had Summerville, Rutter and to some extend James who is likely to be out for another month.
Please tell me you’re not one of those fans who still believes we can attract an array of top quality coaches to the club. Farkes as good as it’s likely to get for a long time
