Yeah it’s a take one for the team foul that everyone makes. Not at knee high, studs up though. Joe Cole made a good point about it being right in front of the Utd bench as well
Problem with Martin he proudly boasts his commitment to his system, even when things aren't working he still commits. I saw a post from a Swansea fan on reddit when we first signed him basically outlining what to expect, we'll start slow and lose a bunch of games and it'll be all 'doom' and then suddenly it will all start clicking. Weirdly, that is pretty much what happened. However, I don't see that applying in the PL. This is completely different kettle of fish to the championship oppositions he's always practiced his trade against. It's hard to implement a system where we intend to 'control' the game when some of these teams have players worth more than our entire squad.
3-0, good goal and no more than we deserve Just realised it ****ed my prediction up in the prediction league
It is huge. If we play like we did for the first 30 mins today we'll win. Same line up but swap Stephens for THB and BBD for Fraser or Cornet.
Yeah, such as shame but with such a young team confidence can easily disappear. Definitely positives from today. Hopefully we should change our centre back pair now but stick with the 4-3-3 formation. Need to improve our defence at corner and we need to play a left footer at left back it is why BBD looks so isolated.
He’s never really “over achieved” as a manager from memory when I looked at his career. Finished mid table with MK Dons when they were a mid table side, same with Swansea. Playing an attractive style which you either love or hate Finished 4th with us when we were either the 2nd or 3rd best squad in the league depending on your opinion. He’s going to have to buck that trend and over achieve this year if we are to stay up Reinforced to me at least that his style will only be successful with a good side respective to the league you are in, it doesn’t get more than the sum of its parts or whatever that phrase is
Not excusing Stephens at all, but some of the abuse for him is (as ever) over the top. You'd think he personally scored all 3 utd goals, personally missed the penalty on top of getting sent off the way some of our fans go on about him. Him being out isn't going to suddenly open up our scoring prowess. 33 minutes was our last shot on target today. Disgraceful.
And if we lose the season is basically over after 5 games and the aim will just be trying to get more points than Derby Agree on the team suggestion. No way should BBD on the left when we have the other two and I expect one of them wasn’t in today because of how recently they joined
I'm not saying he was decent. But him being banned isn't going to solve all our problems. We're **** in attack, and having a change of defenders isn't going to fix that.
