Heads completely dropped after the penalty miss. Completely unacceptable as it was still 0-0. On the plus side Ramsdale is a great keeper and Dibling is a huge threat. But Stephens has to be more vocal as captain. He has to fire up the side again.
This is gonna sound crazy but I'd honestly be tempted to take Dibling off at HT. The game's almost certainly gone, doubt he'll play the 90 anyway, and we desperately need him for Ipswich next week.
Well we desperately needed half time. I doubt we can turn this around but that last few minutes was starting to remind me of the end of game collapse when they put 9 past us.

This one is as good as over so I'm going to take the positive that if we play like we did for the first half an hour then we will be decent this season. We know they are capable of doing it now, we just need moments to go our way (score the ****ing penalty!) and to be able to do it for 90 minutes.
I wouldn't call the game over just yet. We get one back and United will be vulnerable. We'll need to score by the hour mark though.

It is real deja vu from the relegation season. We were good in most games then as well but didn’t score, concede one and then heads dropped and it was over. Obviously first game playing this formation/line up but Archer doesn’t look like the type of centre forward needed. Lots of times gone into him to hold up and he isn’t able to. We need to get the ball in behind for him to run on to, but we aren’t doing that
I admire your optimism but I really can't see us scoring twice. Unless we get another pen and someone else takes it
Pros Ugochuwu, Downes and Fernandes look like a good midfield. Ugochukwu, Fernandes and Dibling look PL quality. Ramsdale has made some big saves. Cons: Defensive marking is vomit inducing. Archer and Diaz look like they are playing with goggles on and in a tar pit respectfully.
Hopefully the first 35 mins has shown Martin that this is the way to go even if we end up losing by 10 today
