I do as well. Why NUFC haven't cotton'd on to the fact that other PL teams are out to rinse us for what they can. Why we constantly go to Bournemouth, Palace etc for players. Do you Man C, Liverpool etc going for players like this. They dont and neither should we. We are crying out for a DM, for people that can control games and there are tonnes of them in European league at half the price.

Let Mitchell set up the scouting network, lets get these rough diamonds in and lets move away from Bournemouth, Palace players.

He's absolutely spot on..anyone can just go around buying big names at high prices at the right age.

Mitchell isn't going to make stuff up and has a vast amount of experience in this area. The purchases of Hall, Livramento, Barnes, Gordon, Tonali and the chase for Guehi were just very obvious, we paid/were paying around or over the odds for what we were getting, there was no cleverness in any of it. Minteh was a good find, but was probably supposed to stay here rather than be used for FFP! And he's just one player - but isn't that the most maddening part of any of this? Found kid in Denmark, who could have either been our first choice RW or (as was) be sold for huge profit. Yet all Summer we went for Guehi at a huge overspend, and Trafford for a similarly mystifying amount of money. We've hugely overspent on the contract for Kelly as well - where the hell is he a £100k pw player?!?!

So Mitchell is completely right - someone's at fault, because it's a clusterfuck as it stands.

Ok so then explain: Alfie Harrison, Cathal Heffernan, Leo Shahar, Trevan Sanusi, Alex Murphy - all look like great talents bought in for very little money. Even the new lad Pivas signed this summer. None of them have anything to do with Mitchell or his nouse.

The absolute prime example is Yakuba Minteh - who Brighton's director confirmed they were interested in previously, yet we got him for £7m and sold him to Brighton for £30m having never kicked a ball for the club - I'll reserve judgement on Mitchel until he can pull something like that out his arse but until then he'd be best to keep his cards close to his chest and mouth shut.

So what do you want the club to do as it appears your saying you feel the previously mentioned purchases' (the near new starting XI and the youth prospects) weren't "fit for purpose" (Mitchells words not mine)?

I.e. your not happy for the club to buy ready made, yet still relatively young talent for decent but fair prices, nor happy for the club to buy very young, youth prospects and develop at low prices? You want them to find hidden gems from nowhere who are already better than what we already have a the club to go straight into the first team?

Yes that's or at least see one or two clever buys is what I'm saying.

All clubs buy youth, but Newcastle haven't made one major discovery despite spending 250 million net over 3 years.

I'm not unhappy though... we don't have to ram our heads into the clubs arse and never come out for air though.... Mitchell is right on the subject imo.

Like I say when Mitchell can get his feet under the desk I'll see what he brings in, not sure he's the one who should be out spouting ****e on signings like Bruno, Gordon, Isak etc until he's signed a few players who come out of nowhere and been ballers to take us to the next level.

I think this is misinterpretation mate.. he's not saying anything bad about the players or their ability, but he's pointing out that signing expensive players all the time isn't fit for purpose.

If PSR wasn't a thing they could just do the same thing forever, but it's pretty lazy, very expensive and just not a sign of clever recruitment.

It's not sustainable and they need to start finding a few players also.

But they aren't just signing expensive players Bruno signed for £35-40m, worth £100m, Isak signed for £65m, worth £100m, Gordon signed for £40m worth £60-80m now so we are literally signing good, young, players who's values are increasing - the youth listed previously all signed for about £3-5m and I'd bet Harrison or Sarhar will cover the cost of all of them when/if sold.

All the first team signings are... youth players is standard you'd expect them to sign them.

There's something missing from Newcastle's recruitment and Mitchell is here to resolve that.

I'll all come together nicely imo
