He's over complicating a fairly simple game, full stop, exclamation mark.We revert back to the basics of grass roots football or we'll be made to suffer week in/week out. I remember discussing this when Tim Walters was being touted around as the new gaffer/messiah/second coming. Kamikaze, all out attacking Walterball was on a hiding to nothing in this League.A speculative ball over the top with pacey forwards running onto it would render it for what it is...Footballing suicide!! 'If' he continues with this wanton abandonment of defence, every coach in this League will rub their hands at the prospect of playing us ... Biggest disappointment last-night,defeat aside, was the coaches after match meltdown and his defence of the indefensible,I was embarrassed for the bloke!!
Walter has had to deal with more change than Rosenior did The incoming was better players under Rosenior Some outgoings were better players under Walter
Oh, there's a massive difference. I watched a half of Hamburg under TW last season and it was pretty clear that it wouldn't work over here. There was some really good attacking play, but it was against a far inferior side and their press was disjointed. Of course, Hamburg still gave up chances too. I do question who upstairs thought this was a wise appointment.
Which is why we should have signed meffert It beggars belief we haven’t signed Walter’s players I think this coach veto thing is bollocks The brains trust have flung their net far and wide trying to look good to acun When all they had to do was raid the German market for four players. There’s a reason Cloughie took John McGovern everywhere with him acun should have that Q&A today As long as the Ming mongs are kept away from it
Give him 10 games, it's still a squad and club in transition....I'd have hoped we would have played better last night, or at least begin to understand tactically what is try to be achieved...but I'm not sure we are seeing the best starting line up - I do think we have recruited well and the squad is a good one, but Tim is already under pressure.
I saw instantly That championship teams press far more intelligentely and aggressively than 2nd bundesliga teams So what the ones paid a lot to search Saw Is beyond me
I get what you’re saying but Hürzeler had two years as head coach at St. Pauli, managed to get them promoted and got the Brighton job as De Zerbi’s replacement. In his two full seasons at Hamburg, Walter had them finish 3rd both times and lost in the play-offs. The play-off system in Germany is a lot different to England. The 3rd-place team in 2. Bundesliga plays the 16th-place team in the Bundesliga. Hamburg have gone through loads of managers since they were relegated from the Bundesliga in 2018 and Walter was the most successful out of all of them and the only one to have them finish in the 2. Bundesliga play-offs and he did it twice in a row.
I would say that English football is about half a division better all the way through Top half of Premier League = Bayern Bottom half of Premier League = Top half of German Division 1 Top half of Championship = Bottom half of German Division 1 etc......
I guarantee he’ll get until Christmas, we have two international breaks coming up in October and November which should help.
The issue is what is the team transitioning to? Hard to say from the last three games. With the previous manager, you could see what he wanted which didn't always work or satisfy everyone... Right now, there's no obvious end product. Manager happy though... No City supporter or employee should be happy with a 2-0 loss at home to Sheffield.
Nothing physical but he’s incredibly well liked and that doesn’t really happen without results. There’s been warning signs we can be open like that so far, but nothing on that scale. Corners are ridiculous, you can’t leave so much space to be defended and task Burns who plays in ankle weights with the role of defending it. Mehlem and Omur as a pairing is way too lightweight too
The gutting thing is, because of how Leeds/Blunts have played against us, they were 100% capable of us getting a result against them. Blunts especially had **** all without us handing to them on a plate.
All the subs made a really positive impact though I will add. Not Slater’s biggest fan but he showed his class last night and why he will 100% still be a big part
And that in a nutshell is the million dollar question Will the owner tolerate this and give it a chance or will he suddenly summon and sack him? I suspect,as Chazz has mentioned,if that Q&A was today he(Acun) would face some seriously uncomfortable truths about the standard of Football we've served up so far. I think we have brought in some decent talent and personally I think he'll give T.W time to let it gel,but in reality it surely all boils down to results in the next 5 or 6 games?
Leeds were **** last time these are **** this time! what does that make us? the ****s were comfortable all night long. and has anyone mentioned our player has the chance to shoot but decides to cross it and they go up and score from the corner Their player shoots from around the exact same spot our player decides to cross it! you’re in the box you ****ing shoot
