Great musician. Part of the very short-lived Sky whom I saw in Chester years back. Apart from the music, I was knocked out that they queued up for drinks at the interval and were happy to chat to people in the queue. Is anyone more techie than me able to put up a piece of theirs?
Brand new material from Basher Lowe released today!... A bit more up tempo than his later albums now he's got Los Straitjackets backing him, still the typically melodic well crafted songs though.
Herbie also played a major role in this classic by David Essex, where he plays both the bass line and the lead line an octave up on the bass.
I had the pleasure of watching Herbie playing the bass on Jeff Wayne's War of the World's concert a couple of times.
I have posted this before but another one with Herbie that I thought was absolutely brilliant is this one
I wonder how much the tickets would be for this show today?, probably more than Oasis! What a great list of performers, all playing live with assistance from The Wrecking Crew too...
Only Sir Macca could put together a backing band like this with guitar greats Dave Gilmour and Mick Green, Ian Paice and Dave Mattacks on drums, Pete Wingfield on keyboards. What a brilliant and joyous show!...
This is music to soothe your soul on a quiet sunday evening from American Folk Rock supergroup Bonny Light Horseman from their latest album...
Just to say, well done BBC for radio 6 Slow Sunday. An eclectic mix of stunning sounds. When Iggy Pop plays contemporary opera you know things are moving on. .
Lovely. I love everything Anäis Mitchell does, and this is just sublime. Nice adaptation of Down By Salley Gardens by W.B.Yeats on that first track too. Here’s the track they took their name from, which I think I posted here a million years ago
Many happy returns to Alternative Rock pioneer and guitar god, Bob Mould who is 64 today. He was doing the quiet/loud thing before Pixies and Nirvana (who get all the credit) as witnessed on this classic...
RIP Paul Di'Anno Maiden have a great back catalogue and Bruce is an amazing vocalist but I always preferred the first 2 albums when Paul was the singer - less polished, edgier and with the same rawness that came from punk. Love the track above.
Today, 25th October is the 20th anniversary of John Perl's passing. Gone but not forgotten. One of his best, it shouldn't work but does.
Take your pick out these. I didn't realise how many there are and the diversity of the music. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Peel_Sessions There's a FB group https://www.facebook.com/groups/124...cently_seen&multi_permalinks=8109081962529107
