Just found something interesting online, apparently the chance of rain is actually the chance of a change in weather. So if it starts raining in the first half hour, it'll rain until at least the second half hour. Make of that what you will!
Wow it rains the lap after I pit for dry tyres, then I stay out for 25 laps in the rain, I don't think anyone can top that moment of strategic genius.
Having similar bad luck. Pitted, started raining next lap, had to pit again for wet tyres. Pitted, two laps later it stops raining, had to pit again for dry tyres.
3rd! I got very lucky in the first stint, the rain came on the same lap I ran out of fuel, so I only pitted once whilst others pitted twice. Was unlucky in the long rainy stint, having to pit for fuel 2 laps before it went dry, but only a couple of people got the strategy nailed on, so very happy with third in the end.
Last bit of rain cost me alot. I had quite a good chance of getting a point for 8th. In the end I was 11th, still my best result in Ams, but I was so close to getting that point.
Seems downgrading my car to save wear was a huge mistake, I can't get my old parts back! I've gone from a level 3 car back to all level 1. That's going to probably end up costing me more now than I would have saved!
Welcome to the group , ill send you the link to the special group where we talk after you win your first race....
Thanks guys, It seemed my strategy worked perfect as I was the only one to 2 stop and avoid the rain by staying out. Im looking forward to the final part of the season now as I have invested heavily in testing!
Congratulations! I managed to sneak a 6th place so happy with that. If my drivers OA is higher than 85 at the end of the season and I stay in rookie do I lose him even if he still has races contracted? My understanding is that I will lose him but just want to confirm.
Thanks, and yes you will. If your not going to promote then try getting into debt to lower your drivers moral
2nd for me! The 2 stopper on softs worked a treat, although I cut it really, really fine on fuel. I was at 0% 2 laps from the end, and somehow made it home. I'm pretty happy with that, I don't move up in the league (top 2 seem to have it pretty much sewn up) but increase my lead over 4th, who had to pit 3 laps from home when he was beating me! How did everyone else find it?
I SUUUUUUUCCCCCCCCCCCKKKKKKKKKKKK! Got my fuel wrong and pitted with two laps to go, but was still near the bottom anyway. I need to start getting my **** together because rookie league is beckoning. Just plain slow at the moment.
I think my driver was hung over after celebrating his first pole position the night before. 4 race mistakes and midfield pace despite being on the extra softs with low fuel. I think 2 stops was the way to go in hindsight. Finished 8th in the end.
