My wife said I am a sex machine. Her exact words were "you're a ****ing tool" but we all know what she meant.
Radar keys are a joke, available to anyone for three quid or less on eBay. The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
A key that fits toilet door locks that are for the use of the disabled. The toilet is locked and can only be opened by the radar key, but anyone can buy a key. The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
Hull Fair's organisers say early plans for a £25m sports village next to the city's MKM Stadium are "unacceptable". Hull City's vice chairman Tan Kesler previously said he wanted to transform the 20-year-old stadium into a "state-of-the-art" community facility, which would include community pitches and "multi-dimensional sports facilities" and, possibly, a hotel. The SuperStadium Management Company (SMC) said talks involving all stakeholders are ongoing. However, Michael Cowie, from the Showman's Guild of Great Britain, said its members are deeply concerned they will have less space in Walton Street for rides, and warned they could even boycott the fair if the plans are not scaled back. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles...C-BldQX0uhJSRCH7WQ_aem_DFNUT_E7poAIMdHp8-dw6w Mr Cowie's full of ****, they wouldn't boycott anything, but it remains a crap idea anyway.
I drove down Walton Street on Sunday and notice how tired the arena is looking. It definitely needs some TLC.
It's a poor idea for an even poorer location, but that aside, the sooner we stop letting a one week fair getting in the way of regeneration, development, jobs and making a poor part of the city get better with much needed investments the better. It's just a convenient excuse to stop doing anything imo. It's something easy to hide behind. This city really is it's own worst enemy at times
Also it's an odd story for the BBC to put out today. It seems the club hasn't said anything new on this but the BBC have gone and asked the opinion of the showman's guild on an "old" idea. I do agree though the fair does hold back anything new happening to Walton Street. (EDIT: I was slow posting that. I don't think it new either)
The Showman’s Guild aren’t the ‘organisers’ of Hull Fair. The Council are. The Guild simply represent their members when negotiating terms and conditions.
And it's an idle threat. The Fair is the last big pay day of the year for a lot of the showman ( the one's with the million pound plus rides) before they emigrate to Tenerife and the like for the winter. Someone should call their bluff. But this is never going to happen anyhow, the council know it, the showmans guild know it and City know it.
It's nothing more than the usual build up, advertising, hype for the up and coming Hull fair. Expect more in the next few weeks.
Like they will boycott and lose all their money from the money spinner they are on. They don't even live here they take all the money out of the city.
Aye Next week ‘Use it or lose it…is this the last chance to go to the Hull Fair that you know and love?’
