Montenegro v Wales Competition - Nations League, Group H Venue - Gradski Stadion Niksic Date - 9 September 2024 Kick off - 7:45pm Following their battling 0-0 draw against Turkey, next up Craig Bellamy’s Wales squad is a tricky looking away match against Montenegro. Wales were the better side throughout against Turkey, and will travel to Montenegro knowing that they are the favourites. Much of the build-up to the match has been dominated by the conditions of the pitch in the Podgorica, with Uefa deeming the turf unplayable and the game has been moved to Niksic. Tonight’s match will give Welsh fans a better idea of whether Bellamy is the real deal, or if last week’s result was a mere coincidence. I’m going 2-1 to Wales
not an over enthusiastic supporter of Wales anymore but Bellamy does seem to have breathed a bit of positivity in to supporters and players alike. Wales shou;d win this one comfortably as long as they have their shooting boots on.
This is league football... international league football I have to confess that while I love my Bluebirds, it's always been country over club for me. That feeling has grown stronger over the years with the way money has taken over the club game. Trophies are so easily bought by the wealthy clubs so the richest will prevail. International football on the other hand is as close as you can get to true, representative football. Yes investment can be made on infrastructure but success can't be bought by spending billions on players. I appreciate that extended family and creativity with birth certificates have had some minor impact but not on the scale of a club side spending. It makes me sad that the transfer windows are now more important than the rest of the season. Bloody hell. I apologise for the soapbox digest. Nice thread Taff. Cymru am Byth
Different starting line-up. Hope we get a win with some goals tonight - need to get the squad believing they are capable of scoring. ! Wish we had a few more games in this run, alas it's only 2 games in 4 days then it's back to the miserable grind of the championship. COME ON WALES !!!!
Ollie Cooper is just like the majority of the Swans players - dreadful first touch and can’t pass for love nor money.
The concerning thing is that we hadn't scored for 4 games before tonight. Tonight we scored 2 goals so but still managed to go more than 90 mins without scoring !
