Trap M Knight Shamalaladindong went and made a full feature length film just to highlight his daughters limited singing ability. There are other things going on in there as well but the sum of it all is pretty poor tbh. 5/10 Borderlands. Interesting cast in a not so interesting Scifi action flick based on some game or comic or sommit. Puerile popcorn pìsh that Is just about watchable if you have fùck all better to do. 6/10 Kaos Stellar cast doing stellar things in this new series about the fall of Olympus. Very good funny mythology with a modern setting. 8/10
Enjoying 3 Body Problem, I read that they've been given the go ahead to make 4 seasons which would cover the books.
Netflix don't usually commit like that and are notorious for cancelling shows so it's good to see this will be completed.
The shallows Run of the mill shark attack film 4.5 I did however watch it to the end because Blake Lively spent the majority of the film in a bikini....
Is that the insomniac ambulance driver one? I watched that once 20 years ago...banger of a film if I remember rightly 8mm was it called? About snuff films? I think that was a Cage film. Also had Wakim Phoenix in it I think. Another one watch and done. Lord of War too...
I'll give it a go, the ideas in the book were great, but the writing style itself was, imo, poor and amateurish. The only character that had anything like depth is a chain-smoking cop, they were all like they had been written by a school kid as an after-thought to the ideas. I don't know how it won literary awards, unless it was simply because it was Chinese sci fi.
Rebel Ridge - 6.7 It was decent enough but could’ve been a lot better. Trailer gave off the vibe there’d be a lot more action as well.
The Convert - 7 Solid enough watch. Delves into Māori tribal culture and the very early beginnings of British colonialism in New Zealand. Fight scenes are quite graphic but could’ve done with more of them.
The Long Game on Netflix - based on the true story of a group of young Mexican college golfers in Texas during the 1950s ... just about deserves an 8 ...
