No I certainly didn't expect that, I just thought the club would have wanted £18 million before we gave spurs anything.

The ‘lazy’ thing seems disproportionately levied at a certain demographic of player. Hope that’s not the case, but regularly feels to me like it is

I'm sure they wanted more than £18 million tbh, sadly no one was buying ...

... Clarke didn't have a good career until he came to Sunderland and has yet to prove himself against PL full backs.

I'm certainly not counting on a huge sell on payment.

I think it is a really smart signing. I am all for it. My only alternative concern is we see a lot of young lads coming into England and not excelling. Arguably Adil and Ba are our examples. I am really excited to see how he goes, but am kind of expecting him to have a smattering of appearances this season and perhaps being more relevant next season. Nowt wrong with that either btw, smart by the club. If he proves ready now even better.

Haven’t seen the club put anything up about the new striker yet but sure KS said he’s been training, no photo shoot or out.

    hopefully see something this week.

I only know one person who 'supports' Man City and he mentioned this player a year back but I paid no attention.

He reminded me, after we'd signed him, and asked how we'd managed it.

Again, I've no idea because I've never heard of him.

He reckons Man City wanted him, as did a few other top clubs, but he wants first team football.

It's all becoming a bit surreal.

BTW, let me know if you're over this season, be good to meet up mate.

I know he’s (obviously) older than Rigg, but I actually see him as potentially succession planning for when Rigg does go. Like Mundle with Clarke.

Can see us selling Rigg for c£40m in the summer and Aleksic settle in to the role Rigg seems to be making his own currently.

You can really see a pattern developing with all this ...

... after decades of total chaos this will take some getting used to.

This happened with a bloke slagging Joffy behind me. He was just finishing slagging him off when he let one fly off his boot and scored, nearly every one turned around and laughed at him while celebrating. He actually stayed seated and didn’t even cheer

This is why it's best to keep a balanced view and not condemn anyone as ****e until they've proved it's the case. Probably a fair few people who wrote O'Nien off at CB adding him into their Fantasy Football teams and hoping nobody notices.

You want to be in a situation where any of our players can score or do something brilliant and you're not conflicted in your emotions and/or feeling like a hypocrite.

Remember Thomas Hauser scoring being a particularly fine moment to celebrate. Absolute clogger but he kept trying. Just looked him up and he actually scored 9 goals for us which is way better than I remember.

Personal preference but I would never boo my own player, it serves no purpose whatsoever. If someone cocks up I either stay quiet or moan under my breadth.

I think as a fan you have to try and stay patient, especially with passing as if you want a bold, exciting and daring team you are going to have to put up with the odd miss pass and look at is as hard lines.

The worst part was him not even celebrating when we scored. Borderline heretical tbh.

What about Americans like Arsenal, Fulham, West Ham, Palace & Villa though?

Only really Chelsea and Liverpool not keen on their owners and in reality Liverpool owners have been brilliant, just that their fans expect to be winning every year, despite one in 20 odd years.

Generally American sports ownership is about as good as it gets.
