I posted a few weeks ago that I did ot expect us to really click until about 10 games in as the team had to get used to RLB tactics etc and in that post said I hoped we could hopefully manage 2 points per game (20) points. The replies I got were along the lines of, if we have 20 after 10 games we will get autos.
We are well on rhe way to that target already and even though we are playing well we still have fans trying to excuse some great performances by making out the opposition have not been a stern test.

Agree with all this. Don't expect us to win the league but it absolutely is a possibility. We're playing great stuff, have brilliant squad depth, and Regis looks to be the man. No reason we can't keep this up, imo.

I've said before, the biggest risk for us is a Cirkin injury. I think he's the only player in that team we can't adequately replace within the current squad (until Huggins is back).

I swear some people are looking forward to the first loss so they can say "I told you so" and spout their "Speakshite" and "no striker" bollocks. It's a bit sad tbh.

Probably the case - failing Alese being available they'd have to play Onien or Hume at left back or switch formation. Let's hope Cirkin is an ever present in the league games.

Just have to count down the remaining 20 games to the next window. Alese will hopefully be back before then too. Once the risk gets down to single figures (assuming it does) it means the gamble was worthwhile, IMO. We can bridge the gap of a few games and a short time with a stopgap is better than carrying a player for a full season that we may not even use.

One things that I'm still blown away by and listening to Dan Neil on that podcast he says similar is the lack of chances they have given the opposition!

They haven't looked like conceding in 4 matches, the own goal by Luke was a bit daft. Not sure what he was trying to do but it was if dealt with properly a fairly safe cross imo! They are also creating chances which don't rely on passing to the talented player and hoping he can create a bit of magic. It is methodical and seems like every player is confident in what they can do and being part of it, I think we will see goals being spread across the team! If we score at this current rate and it's spread across the team like it has been so far it will be better than having a striker score vast majority as there is no reliance on one man then!

Means he's crap because he can't finish.

This is a joke by the way. ( Just probs not a very good one :emoticon-0100-smile )
Right we are playing like what other good teams normally look like!

    Impossible.
Been supporting them since 1972, have had so many disappointments I recover in 2 nanoseconds.
I relish any upturn in fortunes because that means I'm looking forward to the next game. What more can you want.

I’m always positive sometimes for no reason but we’ve been superb. To see the comments from some of the lads that are normally cautious/ negative has been great, happy as **** and praising us.
    Long may it continue.

I didn't get carried away when Bardsley scored at Man Utd and took the semi-final to penalties.

I didn't get carried away when we won and got to the final.

I didn't get carried away when Borini scored and put us 1-0 ahead ...

... I wished I had when we lost and I had to trudge home in defeat.

I discovered it hurts just as much <doh>

I openly get carried away, I can’t help. And I know you’re generally positive of as well. Start getting carried away again it’s class. In your words a few year ago ‘it’s happening it’s happening **** me lads it’s happening’. :emoticon-0167-beer::emoticon-0167-beer:

Exactly, you can't go around 'protecting' yersel from the pain of losing, it doesn't work ...

... and why should it, the good times are all the better when the sun comes out from behind a big black cloud.

This season proves that perfectly, the lows of last season make these highs all the sweeter imo.

It was surreal that day. The feeling at half time thinking ‘could we’ is one I’ll not really forget

I will never forget half time in that game. One of the best moments as a Sunderland fan.

Hard to explain it was just absolutely electric just standing looking around. Serene. At that stage we all probably knew we’d lose, we as a group decided not to look at it that way.

Was a brilliant day, we did the team proud and they did us proud. I still maintain we had them beat, they were just about out of ideas then Yaya happens out of nothing.

Often underestimated the absolute brilliance of the finish as well. Was such a beautiful finish.

Remember Vincent Kompany talking about that game, and how Yaya pulled them back into that match single-handedly.

Brilliant final regardless of the result
