Linkin Park expected to announce a new lead singer, rumoured to be Emily Armstrong from Dead Sara. Not sure what I think about that, but if they’re going to replace Chester a change of gender isn’t a bad idea. Announcement at midnight our time, from a ticketed event being held in LA.
It's still shocking about Chester. I used to work for their record label and Mike and Chester did a Q&A in front of a handful of us in our office. Chester was very upfront about his mental health troubles and literally a few weeks later he was gone. Very sad but good to see them back.
Last night went to see Elaine Bookbinder at Leeds Grand. Sold out venue and a most credible performance for a 79 year old. Still hitting all the right notes and a very powerful voice. My last post on here was to credit Al Kilvington (Two Pianos) for his tribute to Hull City with his rendition of Wise men say. One song last night, which was beautifully performed, also had me thinking Hull City whilst I was listening and singing along. Quite so Ric. Cannot be spoon fed all of the time. I first saw her in 1972 - she always calls herself it at some point during a gig. I just thought it may get some of youngsters on here to do a bit of research.
I'm surprised she isn't doing 'Ull, she's said many times she loves the City. Beautiful lady, beautiful voice.
This 'youngster' certainly did and it's firmly entrenched in my memory for future pop quizzes I never knew she was still on the go.
There is a marvellous thing called the internet where you can discover things. Anyway, here she is singing the song Tickton referred to. Saw here back in early 1970s with Vinegar Joe which also included Robert Palmer, who I knew to speak to. Brilliant live performer.
She certainly doesn’t look 79 on her TikTok, must be all the lip fillers, gigantic eyebrows and lashes and whatever else she’s had done making her look young.
