Will watch this evening but I’m a bit wary at seeing things like this talking about us dismantling the championship etc. We’ve won 4 games. Less than 10% of the season.

We’ve done brilliantly but everyone talking us up as dominating is just going to make every result that isn’t a win look like failure

it just all feels a bit premature

Enjoy it mate, but dont lose the caution. I am reading and talking to other folk who arent associated with us saying we look quality.

I am still on a couple of whatsapp groups for coaches in pro clubs. After the sheff wed game some disected our performance and were glowing about it. I thought Sheff Wed were bang average tbh, worse probably, but a couple of lads I respect thought we just did a number on them player for player anf tactically.

We will hit bumps, and we may end up being short, but it makes a nice change for folk to take us seriously. When Mowbray was in charge everyone raved about our attacking style, best team to watch etc, but it was always with a small sense of are we able defensively. Not now, so far folk are saying we look complete. If we are still hearing this after 14 games we will be well on our way tbh.

TBH mate, what other people think isn't relevant especially when it's some kid in his mam's back bedroom.

It just means we're currently a topic of conversation ...

... we all know we'll lose games, just like Man City.

Lads in back bedrooms aye. Footy folk taking notice is far more important. Us fans love it anyway. When you get lads like Jobi Macanuff on board it is a good temperature check.

Really looking forward to Boro. Should be a good test. Mind you I thought Pompey would be.

I want to see Regis have to react to a coach that does things in a smart way. Carrick might be that man. I have no criticism of Regis yet, foot perfect. If we roll over Boro and outfox Carrick it will be a good marker.

Well, it is and it isn't.

It's nice that people are impressed but Sunderland people are the only ones who really count.

Not being arrogant but I don't need pundits to tell me how well we're doing.

TBF so far we were told Rohl and Parker were top coaches, at this level, and they were easily dealt with.

I don't know if Bulut and the Pompey manager, Mousinho is it, are supposed to be highly rated but they didn't impress me either.

All four, so far, have resorted to a Plan B of flinging on the big lad ...

... I can't wait to see what Rooney has in store <laugh>

I keep going between teams like Sheff Wed and Burnley having a off day and them looking like it was a off day because we nullified them!

I think it's the latter but to be cautious of me getting carried away I keep telling myself it's got to be the former!

If we want to continue to catch every team on an ‘off day’ all season and romp it so be it.

It’s horse **** of course. We haven’t let anyone play. And if you do try and play well that’s Reg ‘plan A’, we will take the ball and ambush you.

I’m gonna go as far as saying Wednesdays bad run was started by us destroying their confidence, they’d been flying.

Portsmouth had gone unbeaten through Leeds and Boro away, and Luton home. We played probably worst we have all season and easily dispatched them.

I’m not having that we’ve been fortunate or blah blah. We have quality players and finally a forward thinking manager and it’s difficult for anyone to get at us.

We have also added some genuine quality end of window.

I don’t expect us to keep it up all season, I don’t think we win the league, but we gonna be right amongst it and we will batter a few more sides yet.

J’adore la Regis bus, allez les Chats Noir!

Agree, If you can't enjoy this, why bother?

But I agree on the caution; we've not played anybody good yet. Burnley were supposed to be but we might have caught them at a good time.

If we can look this good and win against Boro and then later Leeds then we will have an idea.

Cardiff were caught on the hop and matched us but were unlucky to lose

Sheff Wed were overconfident and individual errors cost them

Burnley were decimated with 'injuries' and players leaving

Portsmouth were in the game until a fluke changed everything

Yes, blah f*cking blah, always an excuse unless it's when we lose.

Where did I say I’m not enjoying it?

    Im loving it.

I’m just wary of all the external people building us up, because they’ll just be pulling us down when we falter.

Talk of us “dismantling the championship” when we’ve played 4 of the 23 sides is just ridiculously premature.

You can be absolutely loving the start we’ve made without reverting to hyperbolic statements about how amazing we are.

Right, despite my post above, I think its clear we are going to be 'pretty good' this season if we avoid the usual job lot of injuries
