Good Morning. It's Thursday 5th September, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road Farke did not want Tanaka signing Further rumours of a rift between Daniel Farke and the Leeds United hierarchy are gathering pace after an article in the German press yesterday revealed that Daniel Farke did not want to sign AO Tanaka. Despite pursuing other options like Gustavo Hamer and Dejan Ljubicic, Leeds eventually settled for Tanaka, splashing out almost £4m on his deadline day signature. After lost Summerville, Rutter, Gray and Kamara, it wouldn't be unreasonable for Farke to expect a 'marquee' signing to turn up at Thorp Arch, but it was not meant to be. According to German publication ' De Rheinische Post', Farke was disappointed with Tanaka's arrival - only time will tell whether the Japanese International ith 27 caps. can prove his gaffer wrong! Tanaka previously applied his trade with Düsseldorf in the second tier of German football, showcasing his many talents, where he provided 10 goals and eight assists in 95 appearances. His impressive record mirrors his time at Kawasaki Frontale, where he secured 10 goals and nine assists in 94 matches, clinching three J League titles and multiple domestic cups. please log in to view this image Could Rothwell get recalled in January It has been suggested that Bournemouth are already closely monitoring the situation of midfielder Joe Rothwell, who is currently on loan at Elland Road. The 29yo was deemed surplus to requirements on the South Coast, and was sent to West Yorkshire to get first team action. His appearances thus far, both in pre-season and in the league have not disappointed. His link up play, and vision has been positive, and his set-piece play is better than anyone currently on our books. Despite this, Tanaka's arrival may have pushed the former Manchester Utd rookie further down the pecking order making first team opportunities even harder to come by. Daniel Farke already has Ampadu (, Crew) and Gruev at his disposal. If Leeds fail to utilise his services, the Cherries have the right to recall him in January. please log in to view this image
Morning to you both. Impossible to give a verdict on signings till they've at least played a few games for us. Im not sold on the idea of buying lads with zero experience of English football, hope Im wrong. On a different issue, watched a pl clip from about 20 years ago between Arsenal and Chelsea, can't find that clip now. Anyway the gist of it was how much the game has changed. Have to say I was amazed at how poor the standard was back then. Hoofball with players all involved in head tennis. Awful stuff
Morning all IF the 49ers and Farke are at logger heads then Farke needs to be careful where he steps. This reminds me of Clough at Derby when him and the Derby board fell out. On a merchandise note my wife is kicking off with the club shop's customer service trying to get a replacement 3rd shift after the Red Bull logo started to bubble.
Let's go down that Rabbit hole for one second mate. Farke gets fired and he gets a payout. That's the way to go if he quits then no money for Danny boy. The speed the 49ers go we'll be waiting for a new at the start of next season.
So Farke doesn't want Tanaka but his arrival may put him ahead of Rothwell, who Farke did want. Confucius he say.....
Morning all Farke still has one of the best squads in this division, of course he would rather have Hamer then Tanaka, however, there would be a few clubs in this division who would have snapped your arm off for Tanaka. If Rothwell gets called back then it means our first choice 11 are fit and firing so I don't care, we all know the 49ers have money in the bank to replace him in January, whether they will or not is questionable I guess
Morning All. If there’s a rift (though Tanaka was brought on near the end) then it only ends one way and that will see Farke sacked. If that happens then hopefully the board have planned and a replacement sounded out, which judging by the transfer window, I doubt. Hopefully the article is just a stocking filler as it’s all too quiet due to the international break and everyone at the club is pulling together and aiming for promotion.
"Further rumours of a rift between Daniel Farke and the Leeds United hierarchy are gathering pace" reads just like a clickbait title. Farke - did you want AO? Yes I did. Headline - Farke denies he didn't want AO shocker! etc etc
I’d be surprised if the stories true, maybe they are, but only time will tell on that one. If we were to part ways, so be it. However the transfer clickbait frenzy is now over(till Dec/Jan hopefully), the same news outlets have no club news to speak of, unless they generate some over the international fortnight. Draw your own conclusions.
Farke wanted Tanaka last summer. He was Farkes choice.Gruev was also a Farke signing. This year Farke didn't want Tanaka? Not having it.
The question must be asked who's camp is this story coming from. I got the impression that Farke wanted Tanaka last summer but an injury put a stop to it. Maybe the board are sick of Farke. They clearly dragged their heels with the transfers and if I was Farke I'd be pissed off with them selling my best 3 players. (and no I dont believe the clauses story).
Make of it what you will but it’s being reported that Max Wober has been telling Sky Sports in Austria that he sees Elland Road as the “perfect fit” and is prepared to bide his time and work to win a place back in the team. I guess we’ll find out whether he means it, or if it’s damage limitation as he’s stuck for now, in January.
Are we seeing the likes of Adam Pope and Graham Smyth join the clickbait way of journalism. Remember Popey upset the club recently with a story he put out which the club denied. This is the second time in just over a week Smythy has said FARKE isn’t happy with the 49ers. My own view is that he upset the dressing room at the back end of the season. Anthony and Roberts were peed off and we know about the Cresswell situation too. Luke Ayling leaving was a strange one too. So if fans didn’t believe it last season, do they believe it this season?
Should all be happy imo. Multi millionaires doing sweet fa from one end of the week to the next. Time to get the whole damn lot of them out collecting rubbish again and get a glimpse at how the rest of us fools live
