Goztepe are unbeaten in their first four league games, 3 draws and a win and a good point against Fenerbache. Only Juan is seeing any minutes of our loan players so far.
If they’re so desperate to get Onuachu to Turkey, and Galatasaray are signing Osimhen, maybe we can swap Onuachu for Osimhen and then everyone is happy.
I'm sure it is! Not trying to **** on Vancouver, or Canada or even the MLS as a retirement league. Just thought Stu had another couple of years at a higher level before he would do that kind of move considering he was still very important for us last season. But maybe he just doesn't want to put his body through that anymore or is happy with what he's achieved in football so fair enough! Was always one of my favourite Saints players in his time with us.
Depends on what you mean by higher level. He surely would have had championship offers but that really is putting yourself through it with the 46 game season. And the premier league offers on the terms he might be able to get in MLS probably weren’t there. I doubt anyone was going to offer him a contract like he was on in our final season in the premier league
Top end Championship, bottom end PL or back to Celtic. Stu is never going to play all the games anyway (as we've seen over the years), but still think he has the quality to be useful to those level of clubs for half their games as he showed for us last season, and previously for us in the PL. I thought he had one move like that in him before going for his retirement contract, but obviously not, so fair enough.
I think that is a bit of a misconception. The MLS can provide an excellent pathway to the more intense leagues later on. If my kids are serious about pursuing football, then the route that Jack Harrison (Everton midfielder on loan from Leeds) took is exactly the way I'd want them to continue. In this video he talks about being in Man U's academy from the age of 8 and the decision to move to the States at 12 to pursue a scholarship: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/av/football/54271322 https://www.espn.co.uk/football/sto...us-high-school-soccer-life-leeds-jesse-marsch
I think Chris Wilder said Sheffield United wanted to get a deal done to bring him in but in the end it just didn't end in an agreement. He obviously trialled with Brentford too but they chose not to offer anything. Maybe he decided if it wasn't red and white stripes then he wouldn't be staying in the UK
