Would be happy with this and would be a very good appointment if it came off, would certainly be a step in the right direction and I would rather have him than Hughes. If given the money to build his own squad then MON would be a class appointment, at Villa he brought in some good players such as Ashley Young, John Carew at the time and Martin Petrov to add that steel, experience and composure into the central midfield and had them playing some good attacking football. With O'Neil I think from the off he would sort our problems which have not been addressed when they should of been. I think like Brucie Richardson will be given a shot at left back and rightfully so after the way he has started the season there but the lack of creativity, pace and goals in the midfield especially that left wing spot will be addressed as well as the lack of fire power. MON might be the man to get the best out of Sess as well, we need this lad at the club and MON hopefully would be able to do what Brucie never managed. Lets not forget Gyan as well, a new manager might be able to get him fit and firing and hungry to be at sunderland for next season. If it is MON I wouldn't complain
O'Neill 1/6 with Ladbrokes now (although 1 big bet could cause that and SSN will contribute to the market move). Not my personal choice but I will back him if he is given the job! On a positive note he will definitely want money so appointing him suggests Ellis is willing to spend!
What does 1/6 mean? Is it for every 6 pound on you'd win 1? Sorry for my ignorance. Never been a gambler.
Pretty much. Means he's odds on favourite... Means to win big, you have to bet ALOT more... something thats good for the bookies. As their payout percentages are way in their favour. If you bet big on odds like that, you better hope it pays off!
But you get your stake back, it wouldn't make sense for people to bet 6 quid and get only 1 back. You bet 6 quid, and get 7 quid back if you win.
We now have SSN saying we have approached MON but Hughes is favourate, is that called hedging ones bets
This one could go either way... Certainly thet are the two front runners....can't see it going anywhere else really... Win win situation, both good managers.
i think if we appoint Mon that will mean that we will have a good transfer kitty,,,although haviing just read why hughes is supposed to have left fulham because of ambition mismatch..you would have thought he also would be looking for significant backing in the transfer market......because i would have thought that fulhams ambitions would of been.... mid table rocks......so then i have now convinced myself in the space of a few lines that either appointment means that we are aiming for europe eventually.......and that was not what i was going to say at the beginning...god im getting old.....more drink please!.................... nurse!
