In a slightly more serious reply - I did a shark swim while in the Caribbean, only Nurse Sharks, but sharks nonetheless
Yeah I survived an attack from a Great White. Needed over 200 stitches, but have a awesome shark bite scar all over my back now, so all good.
I've seen basking sharks but nothing big. Also, as as aside, I do a lesson a year on statistics about how humans are terrible at appreciation of risk and probability. Did you know that on average 6 people are killed by sharks each year (in the entire world) but 1000 sharks are killed by humans each hour. I always find it baffling when it's suggested it we who should be scared of them.
I once had someone come to my door saying that do you want some money with low interest rates so yeah I've seen a Loan Shark about 6ft in height
So if I throw you into a shark pen will you just calmly explain this statistic to them? Nothing to fear.
Not seen them in the wild but sea world has a cracking shark tunnel that you get to see them really close up
Lol no, the original question seemed quite random and surreal, "have you ever seen a shark close up in the wild?"
Well until sharks develop breathing apparatus and vehicles that allow them to come on dry land to kill humans, I think that stat is actually quite predictable.
I was snorkeling off Malta many years ago when a shark swam under me,don't know what kind it was,but I broke all the swimming word records getting back to shore
