Absolutely. Mentality, leadership. Can't have success without it. Those type players bind all the talent together
I’ve never seen him play bar clips when it broke last week, but Aleksic looks something else. Them stats at that age are incredible. They dwarf Jobe and Riggs. Of course I’m sure overall the Serb Super League is a lower standard to the Championship.
Yes, the balance was off last season. But that didn't warrant the criticism. It was clear that there was a process to be worked through but that required patience that some weren't willing, or capable, to give.
Aye he kinda went under the radar with the whole striker search. But he at least looks like he could be an absolutely brilliant bit of business. Will be interesting to see if he plays at all for Serbia this week.
I think it was mostly narrative feedback if I'm honest. The fans and various talking heads had decided that we needed 'experience' so overreacted when we shifted on certain players. The reality is that we didn't miss Gooch or Batth on the pitch in the slightest - despite both being good lads. Pritch maybe a touch more, but he was a bridge player to the summer at most and he decided he didn't want to be. He wouldn't get close to the team now. The real crux of the problems last season started with competence, not experience. Poor changes to play pattern from Mowbray, none of the four strikers catching fire, poor choice of senior pro in attack from TM in Dack, continuing poor behaviour from him in the press and an itchy trigger finger from KS leaving us with instability. Poor coach recruitment and the club settling for a man who they never seemed convinced by as far as I could see. Probably the best decision we made was to just call it a ****show and batten down the hatches for the rest of the season - even if the fanbase didn't like it at all. So now we've got what we've got. Despite the lack of a 'proven striker' being called 'unforgivable' by the usual talking heads, we look okay. Truth is it'll be entirely forgivable if we have a decent season. The continual slicing of discontent will be there forever (we've now got a senior striker but not a proven one - whatever the **** these people think of as 'proven') because that's what gets online engagement. Meanwhile the floor on SAFC keeps raising, the ceiling keeps raising and we keep on plodding forward in a pretty positive direction.
I maintain getting minutes into talented young players is beyond valuable. Look at the step in class from Jobe and Rigg. Big part of that is the manager but another big part is the experience they've gained.
Saudi window shuts at 10pm tonight Arsenal have turned down a bid of £30m for Trossard. As if they’d sell now
For everyone except Ivan's family,his advisors,his bank,his bookies....oh...and Ivan himself. So,who else it is a waste to?
his career, never been higher than Brentford and kept banging on about how his next move would be a one where he goes to win trophies at a club like Arsenal etc
Well, that's where we are,I'm sad to say. He's got no interest in trophies, caps or records....money is all that matters to him and he'll probably piss a great deal of it up the wall.....I'd expect his inbox is full from bookies offers.
