Sol Bamba RIP

Absolutely devastating news tonight that Sol has passed away at the age of 39.
A true Blueburd.

Terrible news especially when he seemed on the path to full recovery.

A very much respected professional - we hated playing against him but we all admired him too. Many of us hoped he would cross over the Severn and play for us - and he nearly joined us towards the end of the Pearson era.
A terrible tragedy - taken far too soon.

I was absolutely devastated by this news. He gave his all for City. One of my favourite players to pull on the shirt.

Rest in peace Sol you absolute legend.

 

It’s still difficult to believe this gentle colossus of a man is no longer with us. First time I recall seeing him was for Leeds when they beat us 2-0 at home in March 2016 and he was a beast and instrumental in our defeat.

Little did one expect to see him in a City shirt 6 months later and scoring in our win against the wurzels.
