Just for a bit of time passing, assuming everyone was fit what's everyone's starting 11 and subs bench? I think I would go .......................Patto Huggins.....09....Alese.....Cirkin ..............Rigg.....Neil.....Jobe Roberts......Isodor......Mundle Subs. Moore, Ballard, Hume, Browne, Samed, Poveda, Mayenda, Aleksic, Seelt Saying that I could easily swap Hume, Ballard and Browne in. Harsh on Mayenda as well but I like the look of Isodor in his brief cameo. We certainly have some options if everyone was fit
Your team but with Mayenda up front and Ballard for Alese. Really want Mayenda to keep developing and think he offers a whole lot as it is.
No idea...big juggling act for RLB this season, what a nice problem to have. Means we don't have to flog anyone to death like Jobe was last season.
100% agree with Mayenda, he’s started well, let’s keep the momentum going. Ballard is a beast when fully fit and firing and just edges Alese for me. Big fan of Aji though regardless.
1st choice Patto Hume ballard o9 cirkin Neil Rigg jobe Roberts mayenda mundle Think o9 n hume are perfect to how we play 2nd team Moore Huggins seelt Mepham alese Sameh Browne Aleksic Poveda isidor Ba Still think Ba could do well in this system Cracking depth at CB n CM
Too early to judge the new signings, but you assume Mepham and Samed have come here with assurances on playing time. If I had to pick from a fully fit squad, for a one-off game I'd go: Patterson Hume Ballard O9 Cirkin Neil Roberts Jobe Rigg Mundle Mayenda Subs: Moore, Huggins, Alese, Mepham, Browne, Samed, Poveda, Isidor, Aouchiche
If somebody had told us 2 years ago that we'd have signed Chris Mepham but he wouldn't be able to get into people's preferred elevens because Luke O'Nien was in there, we'd have said you were crazy
When you look at it, IF we could keep 15 / 16 of them fit for the season there is no reason we shouldnt be right up there. RLB is going to have a job keeping them all happy, but competition for places in the Squad, let alone the match day squad should keep everyone on their toes.
Don't think we have a strongest 11, especially midfield and defence. We have a strongest 16 lol. I'd honestly be happy to see the players be swapped around and I'd think they'd fit in seamlessly. Man city of the championship
One thing I would do is to give Jobe a rest after every 2 or 3 games. Last season he played really well but tailed off after a few games. Then, after missing a game he came back and was excellent again. He doesn’t need to play every game as we have several choices for his position. Possibly the same with Rigg. Don’t play them every game.
please log in to view this image Totally unfair to take Jobe and Browne out, it's a really hard question to answer because the lads are playing so well it's natural to think the lads currently in the team are the best for the job. Aji Alese would have been in had he not got injured considering the start to the season he had. Having said all that, you do like to see the new lads make their debuts so we can see what they offer.
I'm in the "sitting on the fence but we don't have a strongest XI" camp. Even when we have everyone available its a chance to rest certain players without weakening the side. I also have a gut feeling that we'll get to the end of the season and both Samed and Mepham will have become key players. Whereas right now they're obviously not.
As said above, you need a first 16 these days . Regis will swap things around to suit matches and bring subs on early so we do t get fatigued/ knackered. on that basis, I really don’t care what the first 11 looks like. Im more interested in seeing how well a mix of players can operate at this continued high level - our depth suggests we can have an absolute crack at autos this year, but it’s early days. feet on the ground. Stay consistent and keep improving
It's if everyone was fit though so presumably you'd have Alese in there? Not sure about sticking O9 in as CDM considering he's barely ever played there and didn't look great when he did... Much prefer a midfield consisting of 3 from Neil / Rigg / Jobe / Browne / Samed and possibly Aleksic
LON as CB the "stepping into midfield" CB, when in possession he takes this position, out of possession he is a centre back, first to close down.
I'm really looking forward to seeing Seelt back. His numbers from last season were pretty impressive. For instance he had the highest tackles per 90 in the league from a centre half by a distance. Tall, mobile, good on the ball, loads of room to develop. Could be an absolute star if his injury recovery goes smoothly.
Aye O9 is a CB only in terms of starting (will cover fullback positions tho) we have some unreal talent in CM now Rigg n Jobe will 100% play for England one day, think Neil has a chance as well tbh, Aleksic could become a top international for Serbia, Browne one of the best CMs in the championship and then we have Sameh a Ghanaian international and someone who got into the Ligue 1 team 2 yrs a go
