100% The Sheff Wed vlogger I posted claimed it wasn't a hammering and explained away our first three goals ... ... the mate of the Portsmouth volgger does exactly the same with our three yesterday Of course there were small individual errors for every goal but that's exactly what football is all about. The greatest goal, ever scored, meant someone didn't track back, close down or make a challenge. We absolutely pasted both teams, no argument.
What made me really laugh yesterday was the point when the Portsmouth manager threw on the big lad ... ... that's the first four 'coaching geniuses' who've done the same thing. Scott Parker even brought on a big centre half to play up front
Well I’m happy to report all the lads in the pub were buzzing even me miserable dour m8 who would twist on 21, I don’t envy RLB job of picking the team got a good squad on our hands
I do - it's a great position to be in for RLB - everyone fighting to be in the team and wanting to impress if going on as a sub. Just hope we get through the international break without any injuries. Bring on the Pilgrims.
We can 100% enjoy the start to the season whilst also musing about the transfer activity. It's been brilliant and we look like we have some real squad depth BUT that extra body up front would have been the icing on the cake.... Having said all that, Mayenda might get 25 goals and/or Abdullahi/Isidor could be the real deal. I don't think asking the question (about an experienced striker) is detracting from what has been an excellent start. It's only 4 games in and we shouldn't get carried away, but we can certainly bask in the glory for now...
What makes me confident is the way we played against Burnley. Probably favourites to win the league, but we looked so comfortable at 1-0. Never looked anything other than going to win. When was the last time that was the case, we used to be nervous at 3-0 up with 10 minutes to go
It;s a great video from our perspective but it always mystifies me how people can be filming during a game. Megan Fox could be stripping off next to me at the SOL and I wouldn't notice such is my attention on the pitch
I'm no coach or football expert like some on here but our midfield is so much better this season with Browne added and Neil, Jobe and Rigg having had experience last season. We control games now. Obviously RLB helps as well.
Our game plan and set up out of possession is the most impressive of all the changes we have seen this season. You are right about the Burnley game, and you could say the same about yesterday too - we never looked in any danger at the back
Quick summary and a few thank you's. Thanks to Kev for guiding me out of Stansted, through the tubes, and on to Fratton Park then the French lady on my return ... all the lads at the Good Companion in Portsmouth and the pub, great before and after the game ... thanks to Daydream Believer for saying hello, smashing lad ... thanks to the police for backing me up, against the stewards, over a problem with our disabled section ... thanks to the Portsmouth supporters, next to us, for the pitiful gestures and offers of a fight when they were Mundled, gave us all a good laugh ... and thanks to the Good Companion again for ringing my mate Cris, just now, who'd lost his expensive phone, after the game, in his drunken state ... the pub just called and the cleaner found it down the back of a seat, top notch I eventually got to bed, otherwise known as the back of my van, at Ferrytoll park&ride at 3am and woke up at 9am ... ... I called work, to see what was what and the boss said not to even think about going in. There is a God, sorry Riggy you'll have to wait your turn
Just the extended highlights. Dont watch them live, my mental health wont allow it. If im not busy i keep up to date on here.
I thought their manager gave a fair post match interview which made a nice change. Interview was trying to say they were unlucky with our first goal which he was having non of it.
Bizarre isn't it ... ... you're right, if you're that good a supporter put your fkn phone down and support your team.
Also on that goal, Mundle shot to the near post. If he'd gone across the keeper chances are we'd have got the rebound as we had 2?players just outside the 6 yard. Mayenda and I think Rigg??? Remarkable, given he'd made the tackle in our half.
Rigg and Jobe were great to watch but Browne was my MOTM, what a signing he is ... ... what would he have cost if he'd been on a three year contract at Preston
Read this forum or the one over the road when we lose and you’ll see similar. It’s a kind of defence mechanism by supporters who are invested in their team. They can’t admit that the other side played better football so will say that they were poor, it’s just that “we were worse”.
