We asked him to g He got a club i chaos promoted, something the much lauded Redknapp failed to do. I think we need to allow time to learn. I am sure he will be reflecting on the approach after 3 games, if he fails to adapt a little, then that is another conversation but he will not be enjoying these results
Change to back 4 because the 5 lends us absolutely nothing. At the moment Stephens looks more comfortable with the ball at his feet than THB, so he probably stays for now. Smallbone and Aribo replaced by Ugochukwu and Fernandes. Dibling in for Armstrong Archer to give us a focal point up front. Worth trying Diaz in a new formation first, but Cornet will be breathing down his neck if he doesnt improve. It sounds like Lallana has impressed but I am skeptical about him playing the full 90 mins for now. ---------------------Ramsdale--------------------- -Sugawara--Stephens--Bednarek--KWP-- ------------Ugochukwu---Downes------------- -----Dibling--------Archer-----------Diaz------ As I said last time I put this formation out, I don't think Russ will try it or if he does it will be after a lot of small tweaks.
I don't see RM lasting much longer. Owners have invested in the squad not lease signing Hagrid. They will be worried . i can't see this turning around
Yep, 4 at the back for me, having 5 (too many cooks) just means more chances of poor short passing getting turned over and being caught in possession. We have players that can hurt the oppo and they have to play from the start. I'm genuinely excited by Dibling and Fernandes in particular and I think Archer is the one to play up top from now on.
I managed to get through. And found a pair of seats very similar to the pair I had for Wembley. But at almost £450 each, there was no chance I was adding them to my basket. And that was that. Overall, the day has pretty much gone how I expected, sadly.
Despite being disappointed and a bit hacked off, he’s got a lot of credit in SR’s thinking. He’ll only depart if the investment they have given is consistently under used or poorly used. It’s only 3 games and I also believe Lallana has a key role in the set up which will become clearer as things progress. You don’t buy him into the Club just for the name, his experience and increased knowledge of what makes for success will be a big help. Keep the faith!!
I certainly don't think it's all doom and gloom, Russ has shown in the past that he learns and there are a few unknowns about our signings that have yet to be revealed.
Almost as though he is a thoughtful decent human being who is learning a tough lesson - who would have thought!
To be fair to him, I detected in his Sky SN interview a feeling that he’s going to have to have that conversation with Adarma and one or two others who earned the right to play at this level but are, unfortunately, not at this level. Let’s see.
Good man. Proof is in the pudding tho and I'm sure he will now make the changes we need. And for all the **** Jack Stephens gets he's been better that thb so far
I could live with that but would be willing to give Archer a chance up front, simply because Dibling and Fernandes will put balls between the CBs and FBs and I think that would suit him more than it would BBD. I definitely think that if we stay with 5-3-2, then the 2 up front MUST play through the middle, the WBs absolutely MUST provide the width and the 2 midfielders ahead of Downes MUST be chosen from Tyler, Fernandes or Lallana, players that play on the turn and can run the ball forward AND pick out a pass. RM needs to start setting the team up to win the game and then try to shut the game down, instead of setting up to shut the game down and THEN try to win it, after the game shutting down exercise fails. Disappointed with the form of THB so far. Would love to be a fly on the wall if he ever has a chat with his future father in law about our style of play. Roy Keane, from what I have been told.
Good to see, but unfortunately that is another valuable game wasted which was very winnable if we’d not been incompetent and made Brentford’s life easy. Was a great time to play them and now it’s gone - big international break ahead
