Portsmouth boss John Mousinho told BBC Radio Solent: "Sunderland thoroughly deserved to win and I’m disappointed to lose the game. "There was only very small margins in it I thought, we played quite well up until the goal but there were small bits in the second half we didn’t get quite right. "You get punished by good sides like this, I think there was lots of small moments that once added up created a gulf between the two sides, it’s nothing I don’t think we can bridge at some point but we have to be better than that.".
But you want Speakman out, surely you have to acknowledge that he's played a pretty significant part in getting us to this point?
It dawned on me halfway through the second half that I was actually stressing about conceding a goal. There was no stress at all, even from the start that we might not win, this group just gives me so much confidence. So I guess that now we’ve conceded, there will be nothing left to worry stress about in future games. I’ve never experienced this feeling before watching the lads.
Just read that, he really knows his stuff and seems really good at getting instructions over the the players.
To have such a big impact tactically in such a short space of time is pretty remarkable. Credit to the players as well who have obviously bought into it and have the footballing intelligence to implement it.
Me and my son are on the way back home now absolutely buzzing watching this team at the moment, spoke to a few pompey fans after the match and they were all massively complimentary about our performance. Dare to dream.... Also met @Smug in Boots briefly, didn't realise we shared the same surname, seems a canny lad.
It keeps making me paranoid that we're not as good as I occasionally allow myself to think we are. Then I come to my senses and realise that we've just mentally destroyed them with how class we are!
