Some promising signs but, at the risk of sounding like a broken record, if you don't score goals you can't win games. Select your top three, in order.
Really like zombrano, he’ll get better as the season moves on, unless a ban stops it. Millar was doing great first half but fell apart second. Omar for his industry **** everyone else….. **** sake give Hughes a chance…
No real very good performances today to really stand out so these are ones who did ‘ok’ overall to me. Pandur Zambrano Bedia Glimpses of being better on the ball at the back. However, We are really struggling to play as attacking unit… Stating the obvious but disappointment with no real progress in transition from the back through midfield with bravery and urgency needed to create clear chances. Big 2 weeks ahead, but after 4 games in fairness we look like several weeks will be needed to improve where we want to be.
Pandur (for his offside saves) Jones (for his deliberate back-heel & not accidental ones like others) Millar (for getting into positions to have an ineffective final touch)
Pandur Omur thought he reallty defended well when he went off we missed that on the right side Mcloughlin
Coyle Miller for his first half performance Belia, again for at least looking like a striker in the first half. Our subs cost us the game by conceding the first goal. Thought Jarvis could have tracked back quicker and more aggressively on the winger who went onto beat Coyle to cross. Jarvo would probably get away with that half hearted attempt in the Irish Leagues but not at this level. Up to then a draw looked possible. Once they scored it was game over. Pandur looked better. Jones and Mcloughlin looked steady but we are too slow releasing the ball from the back.
Zambrano Bedia Jones We've got the beginnings of a spine with these and Pandur. Whether they get chance to develop or are replaced by (hopefully) upgrades, not sure.
