I agree Steel, one of my first away matches was Stan Bowles testimonial at Brentford. I believe David Seaman trialed in goal for us that night & George Best even played a few minutes. Saw Bowles in one of the corner pubs pre-match years later when we played in the Championship.
It's not resentment, it's jealousy coupled with regret at the two chances to establish ourselves in the PL which we blew big time! I don't resent their position. They are there on merit.
Watching the build up to Leicester v Spurs, because I’ve remembered that I pay for Now TV. **** me, talk about over analysis. Two blokes repeating themselves endlessly with another bloke asking inane questions. I’ll turn it back on when the game actually starts, I can feel this drivel giving me brain damage.
FA Cup 1st Qualifying Round Stratford Town (aka The Bards) v Worksop Town. £4.40 a pint and you can drink it at your £12 seat, which can be anywhere you want. Proper.
2-0 to Worksop already and the chants of ‘Wemberlee, Wemberlee’ are ringing out from their c 100 travelling fans, who are well oiled. ****ing hell these North Notts lad are very much basic model humans.
Half time Bards 1 Worksop 3. Worksop by far the better team but have had a man sent off for some obscure reason. Stratford play the purest form of route one I’ve ever seen. Cracking cup tie.
If ever a team should be relegated it's Everton.... 2 up at home to Bournemouth with only a few minutes to play they manage to lose 3-2..... Southampton also doing a good impression of being relegation fodder.....
Finished 3-2 to Worksop, who with the 10 men went route one second half, air traffic control will be grateful for a rest now it’s over. Great fun.
