It's surely obvious to everyone that Wagner is not the future. Those three results may have "kept us in touch with the top six", but also highlighted how far off being genuine top six quality we currently are. Our increasingly heard sobriquet is "Worst coached team in the Championship". We rely on individual moments of inspiration to compensate for our collective lack of effective process. Bristol Rovers's manager Matt Taylor has already fielded two different, better coached if less talented, teams, against us this season; he is yet to lose to us.
Whoever Knapper has in his sights as a replacement for Wagner is almost certainly tied up elsewhere and unlikely to be available before the summer. That means an interim appointment if Wagner goes. We have a capable candidate already at the club, Narcís Pèlach. He's managed in the Spanish second tier, was assistant to Corberan at Huddersfield; and then had two short spells as interim manager after Corberan resigned and later when Fotheringham was sacked. It was even suggested he was being lined up as Wagner's replacement when he joined. Officially, we brought him in as defensive coach, so presumably he has had some part in halving our previously awful record of conceding 2 goals a game. We are not going to be promoted; we are not going to be relegated. Why not let NP have a go at fashioning a team from our current struggling collection of individuals?

Let's hope one bump doesn't lead to another.

Anyone else getting a similar feeling to when Lambert took over? The transfer window has been well utilised to get rid of those not with the program, get our youngsters out for some loan experience and some decent signings in. Today feels like a springboard moment to me.
