whoever agrees to the job will have negotiated what they require to do the job.....that includes the transfer kitty.
"But in England, when everyone was choosing their side, mine was always Sunderland. They're my old team. I supported them as a kid and Charlie Hurley was my hero." Ha'way MON, make yourself a legend.
!we band of brothers"..once more to the breach dear mackems...if only success was as simple as a rallying cry........heres hoping
You know I did consider the following: "My mates sisters aunties half cousins brothers son drives for Sunderland AFC..........................." but I thought it looked a little suspicious. Little did I know that even my toned down version was about as clandestine as Steve Bruce. I do love when people claim to be in the know
He spent £180m at Villa then walked away cos they wouldn't give him another £20m - Can you see Short giving him that sort of money? Not me!! I'm not a MoN fan - what he did to Villa was shocking - I will back him IF he comes but the Villa fans have been on talksport about how poor and boring the football was and they were all saying the same when he was manager - how bad will it be if he's here?? Hope it's Hughes personally (wouldn't mind Moyes just can't see him being attracted to us unfortunately - may be wrong though)
I feel a little silly I was so easily caught. Not ****ing Mark Hughes is all I can say. Rate him despite a some what violent approach at times. Blackburn were barbaric under him. And he was responsible for signing The Lawnmower De Jong. Still I think he knows his stuff so not him. I've started a petition for Clarkie to complete Brucies work.
Mmmmmm. Bitter Villa fans eh? I suppose 3 consecutive top 6 finishes, one of those was with a team that scored 71 goals in that season too (which ws the best they had seen since the 1980/81 European Cup team) and runner up in a cup final in his 5 years is pretty **** when compared to the level of 'incredible success' they have enjoyed since he left? DOH!!!!! They were the next big thing to break the top 4 stranglehold and he left because Lerner told him he could have X to spend and then gave him Y. On principle he walked and Villas fall from grace went with it. Blame Lerner not MoN for their demise and bitterness. They worshipped him whn he was there and only turned on him when he left. MoN - top, top manager.
Are you his lovechild Cest?? I say what I see mate and I remember at the time when he was manager that the villa fans complained about the dull football - I ignore the ones coming out of the woodwork now as, like you say, bitter. There were definitely a large amount of fans who said he wasn't playing exciting football - I watched them play us whilst he was in charge and they were awful to watch - I watched them on Sky when he was in charge and they were awful to watch - he did spend £180m though in his time there but didn't exactly play sparkling football (although, to be fair, certainly better than what we've had this year). As I've said, I'll support him 100% (if he gets the job) and if he gets the best out of the players then great - but I don't want him to come in expecting silly money to spend as it won't happen
His football is dull, there is no two ways about it. All based around hard work and direct play. His record suggests he's pretty effective though. Might be a good marriage though because O'Neill likes to throw a hissy fit and be in full control. Whereas Short seems to like the silent inactive approach. Could work well or O'Neill could rub him up the wrong way. Don't expect exciting football at any stage though. All of his teams have been a mirror image of each other.
