Norwich got unceremoniously dumped out of the cup mid-week, by premiership opposition, Coventry won against Oxford. Attention focuses back to the league where a new look Norwich are hoping to gain their first win of the season away at the Coventry Building Society Arena.

The transfer window will be closed by the time the game starts, here are all the transfers of the window: https://www.skysports.com/football/...ransfer-window-2024-championship-ins-and-outs

Assuming Forson is unavailable, here's the XI I would like to see starting on Saturday:

    Gunn
    Stacey, Duffy, Córdoba, Doyle
    Núñez, McLean, Schwartau
    Crnac, Sargent, Sainz

Subs: Long, Fisher, Chrisene, Hills, Gibbs, Forsyth, Hernandez & 2 others

I like the look of that line up Robbie. With Forson out, Schwartau is fast tracked to the starting eleven.

Hanley and Djedje could be the others on the bench. Crnac gets more game time with less pressure playing out wide and Schwartau, who impressed in his 35 minute debut in the cup, gets a chance at his preferred position of SS/AM. It's a very attacking lineup for a challenging away game.

    Thorup on Schwartau:

"He's an offensive midfielder, '10', '8' position, he can also come from the outside. I think it's important for him and his game that the ball is in front of him, that he can attack spaces in front of him, not with his back turned to goal. He's very good at reading situations to get in the box at the right time. He has very good vision and an eye for where second balls will drop and gets in to score goals. That is of course what every football team needs. That's what we can expect from day one with him, and then still be aware that he's a young lad. But I think definitely he can perform right now."

Thorup has said that Forsons injury not as bad as first feared. He has been on the grass today and may train tomorrow - the they will take a decision about the weekend

Interestingly Thorup confirmed he would have no issue playing with 2 left footed CBs in his lineup this season, almost confirming this could be the plan for Cordoba and Doyle. But that this would mean he might need to shift the attacking full back to the left side and have a more defensive full back in the right side

Do we know how strong either of their right foot is? Because it could be reasonable or it could be as Owen described his other foot as his chocolate leg

According to the Wikipedia article on footedness, one in six European players are two footed. Christiano Ronaldo, Zinedine Zidane, Paolo Maldini, Johan Cruyff, Pele, Neymar ............ would suggest it's useful to be two-footed. It is an asset that can be acquired, but the earlier you start, the better. Apparently George Best, who was naturally right footed, taught himself to use his left foot as a youngster by taking only his left boot to training, wearing a plimsoll on his right foot and deliberately not using it. If Transfermkt is to be believed, Slimani is two-footed; he might be a useful acqisition ;)

Many years ago a player told me that towards the end of his reign Ron Saunders used to do something similar in some practice matches by playing right backs at left back and vice versa and the same sort of thing throughout the teams

I'm surprised to see Argos not the first name on the team sheet these days

We’re playing OK I think. Shaky defensively as you would expect.

But I don’t understand why every other team puts us under massive pressure on the ball, while we sit back all the time and let them pass through us…

Every match stream I have seen this season the commentary has been by the opposition. The Blackburn one was excellent, others not so.
