    I feel so bad for ****ting on McCarthy after his role in the playoffs (i still think we shouldve thanked him there and then and moved on), but it will be nice to be feeling confident with a decent keeper in the goal again.

    Yeah it’s crap for him, but he must have had a decent contract he was happy with. He was an ok PL keeper, if I remember he made most of his appearances when the team was on the slide?

    It’s a bit like Boruc coming in for Davis. If we had made McCarthy first choice last year I’m fairly sure we would have achieved automatic promotion.

    I don't think Russell will pick the team that I would like to see:

    Ramsdale
    Suawara THB Bednarek KWP
    Downes
    Fernandes Aribo
    Adarma Archer BBD

    Sadly I don't see him dropping Stephens (nothing against Stephens, I just think we should revert to a back 4). Fernandes is an upgrade on Smallbone and Aribo gives us more of a physical presence in midfield. I really do want us to start playing Archer through the middle in the PL. I think that front 3 with Fernandes behind will be effective.
