Yeah. Time will tell if he's the man to take us forward. I hope he is.

Rusyn seems to be coming into it more and, if all three/four are injured we'd have to go with Bellingham ...

...attracting players to second, third or fourth fiddle can't be easy.

Everything is a gamble mate. It may be that by improving these players, particularly in midfield,we can get 5 players scoring 10 goals apiece, instead of relying on a central striker to get half that on his own. I'm excited by this squad and our additions, let's see how we do when RLB has had them on the training ground for a couple of weeks.

I think if push came to shove we could throw O'Nein up front. He'd certainly cause the defenders some headaches :)

Wouldn't say I was buzzing mate, but I would have been if we'd got the CF in, that's how close we've come in this window.

With the addition of Mepham, we've strengthened the back four. We've massively strengthened the engine room and will be a match for anyone in there.

Up front, we'll it's disappointing, but we have got a few options. The fact that Brighton came sniffing and were prepared to pay up to £2M for Watson was encouraging, so I expect him and Mundle to share the LW slot, which in the short term is weaker than we started with due to the loss of Clarke. We've got Roberts and Poveda on the right, which is stronger than we started with and having strengthened the midfield so much, we could add Jobe on occasions to Mayenda and Isidor without compromising the strength of the midfield.

We have got rid of a few options who didn't really fit the way we play and I would have liked to have seen a few more go, like Ba and Aouchiche, who I both think will struggle to get game time.

So, it's not totally what we had hoped for, but our Head Coach has a lot more to work with and no one can argue that RLB has certainly hit the ground running. As fans, we just have to back him and the players at this disposal and hope we continue to surprise a few of our opponents like Ipswich did last season.

Not sure it is peanuts depending how you look at it, the option clauses for Isidor and Samed along with the two young lads fees is probably all the Clarke money. Still unacceptable in terms of experienced centre forward recruitment but looks very promising in other areas. January should mean we can focus entirely on one experienced striker and fullback competition. Ideally only bring 2/3 in and move a few fringe players on.

Solid 7/10 window for me. Added some good experience and quality to the squad, plus a couple of younger lads with potential. Probably another striker and some full back cover short of being a great transfer window.

Or hes trusting those players, everything is a gamble

Hes improved the squad but failed in getting another striker in - how big a failure that is we will find out as the season goes on

I get the worry, i still think theres enough talent in those positions - but its more unproven talent at the minute

Every player in the world was unproven at one point, mundle etc will never be ‘ready’ without playing games

There are informed gambles and then there are wildcards.

I could gamble £20 that Cannon, Broadhead, Hirst, Mendy or Moore would get us 15-20 goals this season and I think my money would be safe,
I could gamble £100 that Clarke would get us 25+ goal contributions again. Again, my money would be safe

I wouldn't feel as confident putting that money on Isidor, Mundle & Abdullahi.

100% behind the team and the coach but I feel like the powers that be have left us short again

I kept off posting yesterday, instead I was watching the meltdown on RTG and as the day developed on here as well. At times it was getting toxic.

Better to review the window after the dust has settled, so here I go.

Manager: we might just have landed a real gem

    Players in:

Two keepers, the one from Stoke I don’t really get, not on the bench and didn’t play for the under 21,s. He might be here to work with the younger keepers.

Defence: An experienced international defender, a good foil for Ballard but where will that leave 09?

Midfield: An experienced player with years in the Championship, who can play CDM and more advanced, with a good few goals to his name. A player who was in named in the French leagues team of the season in 1922/23. An eighteen year old who is already in the senior national squad for his country. Another promising kid (Lenz).

Forwards: ok this depends on how you refine forwards, first we signed a striker from the Russian top division, a wide forward with a potential X factor for nothing and then another kid to develop.

So nine players in. Yes it would have been nice to have signed an experienced proved goal scorer but we didn’t.

Players out: Only Clarke will be a real miss, however Mundle looked good against Burnley and his size offers something different. Clarke has the ability to go past players with ease, however he could be knocked off the ball when running at speed, Mundle is not as silky but is bigger and stronger and can run at defenders knocking them over instead. We also, f he can stay fit got Cirkin back which adds more attacking options down the left. So a miss yes but it might not be as big a miss and we will harder to defend against as the attack will not all come through Clarke.

As for the others who have gone, none of them leave me thinking they will be weaker without them. The other message sent out was the hands off Tom Watson, in the past £2m from a Premier League team would have seen him gone.

So when looking across the whole window and the new style of play I am fairly happy. This division looks to be the weakest it has been since we came back up and on that note I think we have enough for top 6, if not the top 2.
