That's a bit contradictory. One aim - a striker. We signed one. It isn't enough.

    Wilson will play up top.

I'd understand people saying that people are overreacting about not signing a striker if the 3 key decision makers hadn't all spoken about signing one.

Isidor is a depth signing for across the front line, never played more than 1600 minutes in a professional season I don't think and most importantly here all heat maps and data suggests he's much better out wide, no matter what people say.

We clearly wanted a striker, we clearly went for multiple strikers. Not getting one is **** and it's ok to say that.

Huge pressure on Mayenda, Isidor and Rusyn now. Good luck.

It's a missed opportunity which is the most frustrating thing. The rest of our business this summer seems promising, our squad seems strong. We're just missing a couple of pieces but one of them is the one that usually puts teams over the top in terms of promotion.

There's talk of an £11m bid for a player, bid accepted for Simic etc. and we didn't even get Mendy done after he pretty much begged to play for us. If he was our main target early in the summer, surely an extra £1m to seal the deal would have been worth it (or at least minimal risk) to get it done this week? It feels like we've moved for 7 or 8 forwards and failed to get a deal done on any of them.

shouldn't have taken the info at face value. I should have went with my gut, and that shows that speakman can not sign a striker who we own. Think it's 3 years now.

Massive opportunity missed. The other signings, I don't really care that much. They won't start immediately. We needed a 9 that was championship ready.

Sold out best player for 20m guaranteed and spent peanuts.

What a kick in the balls.

    Sorry guys.

I don’t mind the fee for Clarke tbf I think it’s fair value. I’ll be disappointed if there isn’t another striker come in though seems like a missed opportunity to really give it a good go this season more than a catastrophe. The general feeling was that we needed a few strikers, a CB and a DM. We’ve signed a very good CB and a versatile DM, plus a striker in Isidor. If we were to get another striker in it we would’ve all been buzzing that they’d hit every position we needed reinforcements. It’s obviously not great but 3/4 isn’t the end of the world.

Honest question m8, why’s that? Is Wilson not a good enough striker? I can’t comment I’ve never seen him play, so can’t say if he’s a good or bad striker. I know his previous manager played him nearly 70 games as a no9, but I still read he’s not a striker on some forums.

I agree with you that we’ve signed some real quality this window.
However we needed a striker at the start (Wilson) and then we also sold Clarke, which tells me we needed at least another attacker to come in.
It’s absolutely inexcusable that that hasn’t happened. It’s understandable that like you, many of us are frustrated. Will still support the lads no matter what.

Dunno what or who tees is

We are top of the league, these last few days we needed to strengthen to keep that run going and to make up for the goal contributions we’ve lost in selling Clarke. We do have Mayenda and Wilson but no one person can confidently say that’s enough given one’s still a kid and the other we’ve never seen before. No point mentioning Rusyn like, he’s not up to it.
