Sold Clarke and spent 2mil on a young Serbian. Why not kick on and give some firepower? No point saying “we tried”. Just ****ing do it man.
I'm being critical of not signing a striker but I agree with this to a degree, but its such a risk and only takes one bad injury or dip in form and all of a sudden it can really affect our season especially with Clarke's goals gone. There is always January but theres a lot of games between now and then.
I'm disappointed as well and agree that a striker would have been brilliant but its not end of world. Wilson, mayenda and rusyn, lots of talent on wings and class midfielders. A prem defender too arriving. Lots to be positive about. Strikers are our achillies heel but arsenal don't play with one and do okay
I’m absolutely done with speakman mind, I gave him the benefit of the doubt up until the deadline today and he’s failed to strengthen up front (bar Wilson) and sold Clarke in the same window. Midfield looks better and the lad from Bournemouth is solid but it’s let down by the lack of options up front.
Wilson scores 15 this season from centre forward and this whole Speakman stuff goes away really quick. Seems like the window is neither a definitive success or failure at this point but the next 12 months should prove it goes one way or the other. As for now, we are top of the league and on course for a great season. As long as we are I'm not going to get too upset.
Trying to get a clear head with this. I think some are overreacting and some underreacting. But then it’s the internet. We’ve not seen Isidor play yet. And he’s a striker. So saying we haven’t signed a striker is just wrong. But… It’s fair to say we needed two strikers and only have one. And… It’s fair to say Isidor isn’t necessarily the experienced profile we were very clearly looking for Therefore the club have failed in their stated aims for this window. No excuse. I’m not Speakman out. But this is poor. He best hope Isidor works and stays fit.
