I’m fine with missing out on Cannon. I wouldn’t be fine with not bringing one in. I’m sure it won’t come to that, but feels like we’ve been here before. Hopefully this year is different.
I’m absolutely confident we have a plan here. After selling Clarke and picking up 9 points it would be criminal to not have a plan. It would make no sense at all.
But, at least this window we have shown we are going after strikers. not our fault selling club changed the goal post mid deal or the player doesn’t want to come.
The meltdown come Saturday morning is going to be epic when we end up with just Mayenda and Isidore. Leaving everything to the last minute never works for us but we will see what drama unfolds tomorrow or will it be another anti climax like January?
We have one striker in. Sorry IMO not the clubs fault if (like Caen) a deal is agreed then last second the club changes their mind of the deal. also if the player doesn’t want to come that’s on the player. Or their agent.
I reckon Mendy comes barrelling along Roker beach on a ****ing massive horse then does a knee slide into the SOL and signs contract with his dick.
Not coming isn’t necessarily on the player, it could be we haven’t convinced them or met their clubs demands. Sometimes that will be us making a judgment that turns out to be wrong. Simms for around 4m up front last season is better value than 10m for Cannon now, the investment would have been a good one.
I’d be extremely surprised if tomorrow isn’t the two midfielders we know about and at best a PL kid on loan eg Lankshear
If Simic isn't ready for Cardiff then he certainly isn't ready for us at this time . Maybe it was only ever a loan and we decided to pull out ..we know nothing as per ..the club hasn't said a word about targets or progress.
Nah there’s no excuse for not bringing in another. We need one more at least. If Isidor gets injured we are back to square one. Can’t just keep thinking of new excuses. They have a day left to get it done let’s hope we do
We are so close to being very good. RLB has done all he can to prove himself so far, so he needs backing with that final piece of the puzzle. We will have to overpay now, it's deadline day and teams know we have cash but the forward could well be the difference between coming 2nd or 9th so I think we should spend the cash, even if it's seen as an overpay. We've done some great work this summer and have started the season better than anyone could've imagined, let's keep it going and give RLB every chance.
I'm still expecting to see a centre forward come in who hasn't even been linked. Whey maybe not expecting but I wouldn't be surprised
