The clubs put £70m in front of Palace. The only question for Howe (or recruitment team) is "how the ****, when you have £70m to spend, do you think Guehi is the best choice?".
Shola in overdrive - highly rated Jamie Miley is going to....Newport. So at 20 years old, his level is League Two. That bodes well.
Nope. None in, none out, 5 GK's (all bar one utter crap), Krafth as backup CB, lots of minutes for Almiron, Murphy and Trippier. I'd say our Summer has been the antithesis of "transformative"!
You just know tomorrow will hit the deadline with ZERO signings, Howe is bugging me with his close minded attitude towards premier league or English players. “we tried, but ultimately we couldn’t find anyone who would improve the team we already have” BORING.
That's probably gonna cost us some money if Tino had any add-on fee's for potential England caps when we bought him from Southampton.
Oh surprise - Palace put the price up again......who didn't see that coming........ apparently NUFC management. So basically we haven't upgraded the 1st team in more than a year now - no buys in Jan, a freebie in July and not sold the hangers on. Absolute shambles. Anyone who thinks we are challenging for Europe is deluding themselves.
I used to love deadline day, years and years ago. But we all know we will get “in the north east we have the latest from Keith Downie” .. Keith: “it looks like it’s going to be a quiet day on Tyneside, they tried and tried for Guehi but couldn’t get it the
I used to love deadline day, years and years ago. But we all know we will get “in the north east we have the latest from Keith Downie” .. Keith: “it looks like it’s going to be a quiet day on Tyneside, they tried and tried for Guehi but couldn’t get it the offer over the line, they have looked at alternatives so we will have to see if anything comes of it, but time is running out for the Newcastle hierarchy” same ****, different window.
It’s hilarious how predictable this club is at times. It’s like we know the future already, we know what the situation will be by 11pm tomorrow night. Its the hope that kills ya.
Most journo's saying we're done for incoming business, unless Palace drop £10m on Guehi. Like the football we're watching, all too predictable from Newcastle as usual. Think we realised we were being kneecapped when qualifying for the UCL saw a loan deal for Hall and Harvey Barnes arriving. PSR/PL probably the biggest factor, but there's got to be a few more things to it than that. Top 6 clearly not the target this season, imagine it's top 10 now.
Already quotes from Howe that we're not going to waste our budget buying anyone not at the top of our lists and reports today that we'd rather keep all funds intact for January, when we can try again for Guehi (Howe's absolute number over target).
I mean, am I being stupid here, but weren't Palace one of those who despised our ownership and one of those on the warpath amending third party rules? Then didn't we approach (and get rebuffed) for Dougie Freeman? Why has our entire transfer window centred around just TWO players, both are from probably the one club in the World who absolutely despise us? Who have plenty money from the Olise/Anderson deals and don't need to sell? I mean, am I over-simplifying this or does it feel like the stupidest ****ing idiocy ever witnessed in a transfer window? You'd have to be pretty ****ing stupid to focus solely on the one team least likely to want to do a deal with you.
