I would have to disagree a striker will cost money, cannon is quoted at 10 million - lyle foster is quoted 25 million. Bare in mind those are two players who have potential but have not done an awful lot...then you add in the last day of the window which in itself drives prices up That extra 5 million (should ekwah have accepted udinese and all that jazz) would have helped an awful lot
It's not a case of being resigned to it it's just future proofing. There's 3 promotion spots in a league of 20, simple maths shows you the likelihood of us being in the championship next season is higher than us being promoted so we need to plan for that. You need money coming into the club every year, this almost guarantees that next year some will come in.
I dare say if udinese made that same offer today, we may accept. Get the impression RLB hasn’t liked what he’s seen.
Thankyou for the clarification, I was confusing € & £. I agree that Romaro is a reasonable source. I had not seen that tweet and was under the impression that there were polite enquiries as against a formal offer.
Interesting that we might have been going for a left winger here. Going to be a busy as **** next day and a half.
Someone will pay close to £10m for Cannon yes, if thats us that still leaves us with £5m, take off the fee for Aleksic and that still leaves enough to bring in Samed on loan and then a full back for cheap or loan.
I would agree however you havent factored in wages and bonuses etc just seems silly ti have rejected a permanent bid for someone then accept a loan bid which were both close together in valuation Maybe it was the two cm coming in werent available who knows
Fully understandable considering he wants intensity in the midfield Ekwah doesn’t bring that, at all.
To be fair it's none of our business Whatever the case I can't get worried about guesswork on contract details ... ... sometimes you just have to let it slide imo.
You have no idea how the Udinese bid was structured. It was quoted in the press as not a serious bid. Also, we need to factor in the chunk West Ham take. We wouldn't have received £5m even if the deal was money upfront.
Don't think Romano mentioned a fee just an offer and negotiations'. Speculation it was 5m Euros no idea where that came from. If the club value him at 7m Euros then they were right to turn down the offer
We rejected 6. We have a potential for 7 or get our player back next summer better who wants to stay or better doesn’t want to go to ASSE and get more. Or he stays the same and we get 6 next summer
Ekwah is a good player but doesn't fit into our style of play. He goes on loan to a team which suits him. Plays well, and is worth more money when we sell him next year. Hopefully
This screams of a CF who is 22-25 coming out of France who has scored 10-12 goals in Ligue 1 last season on the final day doesn't it. Probs like €4.75m deal or someshit
