Oh you've done it now! I remember a similar post about Ross Stewart right before he pulled out of the Boro game and he's never really recovered since!!
So. Simic, Samed and Aleksic. Any others do we reckon? Definitely starting to feel we could do with a full back or 2
The worry with fullback cover is that even in the 21s we are playing Crompton as a fullback. So there's not a lot there either as Bainbridge is on loan at Killie! Lavery is the only option.
Brandon Williams was previously on £50k so I'd worry about how much he'd cost us. Also completely disagree about O'Nien's mobility. He's more than capable of getting up and down the pitch for 90. I'd be surprised if there's a fitter player in the squad. Agree about Huggins, though. He's a really good player that would stop any worries about fullback instantly. The calculation for SAFC is whether they can wait for him to return - and what they feel he'll be like when he does get back. If we genuinely think that minutes from NH are reasonably likely after Christmas then I'd certainly be making do till then, personally.
I think he can do a role what Hume does tbh, Himes strengths certainly don't lie in his attacking game
Will be Aleksic announced today, Samed early tomorrow and Simic later on towards the window closing imo, Think simic could come today as sounds like his medical and personal terms are already done
I think Cannon will be off to Luton, hopefully we get Roko in, it's just whether that will be enough with him, Mayenda and Wilson who will also be asked to play LW at times I'm sure. A fullback would be ideal but not seeing any names linked so could be RLB is content with the cover
It's interesting to watch how often Hume and O'Nien end up swapping over in the flow of play under RLB. It's happened enough times that a dope like me has noticed it.
I think Rusyn could stick around if we only bring one striker in, his cameo was alright against Burnley did what he needed to do, he’s limited but he’s a pest and will force mistakes against tired defences
I almost didn't post it for that very reason! However, it'd be a struggle to describe the evidence of Ross Stewart's career as showing that he was a robust player - apart from that glorious 18 month run of course.
I think it'll set the terminally online portion of the SAFC fanbase off no end if we end up with 'an inexperienced foreign kid, a winger plus two failures from last year' as our striker options for this season, but I'd be happy with that lot, personally. I'd even be happy with not getting another winger in - so long as Mundle and Watson are getting minutes.
The 2 centre mids plus simic is an excellent window for me, would leave us in the any thing else is a bonus camp, not a bad position to be in
Definitely shows where we think he's at, we only seem to do that with players we think are a level slightly above the club (i.e. Amad)
