I’d had a few beers in the boozer with me fatha in law by the time draw came on but did i imagine a bowl of balls with all of the “corrupt” 6 in it or whatever which Michael Dawson was drawing from and pulling those balls out….erm first, ergo giving them all home draws? So all of the teams that have their managers continuously moaning about fixture congestion are all given very favourable ties with them all playing at home…oh and shock, we get a ****ing away tie again! It’s a rather radical suggestion and completely out of left field but why the **** could all of the balls not be in the same bowl…and said bowl be covered the **** up so nobody (including the very people drawing balls out of it) can actually see what the **** they’re pulling out? No smoke, no mirrors, no ambiguity or owt like that…just an old skool cup draw off of the old days. Football really is ****ed now like!
A few of my general observations: 1. Tonali looks decent. 2. Joelinton had another poor showing. 3. Willock is now Wilson Mk 2. 4. Bruno is 100% totally with us. 5. Longstaff felt the pressure and smashed it. For what it's worth, we did slightly better than I was anticipating.
The Willock/Wilson axis of glass really does concern me. We should get rid of both by January and not sign anyone with a name starting with W. We've just brought in a new fitness guy so he's off to a bad start.
Willock is an explosive player and unfortunately because he's been out his body now struggling with that. I wouldn't rule him out yet he's not the oldest of players, but it's beginning to remind me of the Kieran dyer situation. I hope he recovers and its just minor... the side isn't the same without him imo.
I'll be honest, that was a really weird injury... really felt sorry for him. As soon as I saw him do it I knew he was ****ed... Strained his thigh in a really strange way. I hope its just a freak / unlucky one, but his durability is a concern. He's not at Wilson levels yet, but concerning all the same.
Anyway - undefeated after 3 games. A couple of new signings this today / tomorrow, Stuff Spurs on Saturday and we'll be rocking and rolling.
Anyone else thinking that if EH hadn't overplayed Willock this season then Willock would probably have not been injured last night.
