Ill have to leave this one up to you mate, i havent scouted him before. His stats look ok for last season tho and played a good level Not sure hes a big physical CDM, just under 6ft, wins 33% of aerial duels, won 47% of defensive duels last season. Has 6 recoveries and just under 3 interceptions a game which is good. 89.5% pass success rate and he plays about 25% of his passes forward, which again is good
I don’t dislike Ekwah at all in anyway and I would be sad to see him go, but this lad would be a big upgrade imo
Perhaps not big then. But seemed physically dominant from memory. Obviously I wasnt specifically watching him as I never thought we'd be in the market for Lens' starting midfielders until we got to the premier league.
Does RLB not rate Neil at DM? Or maybe a surprise move for Neil we've not heard about yet, probably bloody Ipswich again
Aye he might be that, not seen him play - on wyscout at the minute so might watch some of his games to see what hes like Be good to bring in a player of this quality to compete with Neil n the others
This seems like a signing above the level we have previously been able to attain. 33 starts in a 22/23 where they finished 2nd, then 6 starts in the Champions League last season. Seems like he was playing every game last season until AFCON then didn't feature much after that. Couldn't tell you anything about him though
As long as he's competing with Neil and not replacing him. On paper based on the start of the season it would likely mean Rigg dropping out of the XI as well. But what I would say is it would be really nice to have proper good sub options to bring on at 60 minutes.
There's depth and then theres having probably 5 or 6 top class championship midfielders. I'd love us to get this lad but can't see someone of his quality coming here if he's not been told he'll be first choice, imagine having two of Neil, Rigg, Browne and Jobe on the bench in the championship, and that's not taking Aouchiche and Ekwah into account
Get France Football News team of the year 2022/23 https://www.getfootballnewsfrance.com/2023/gffn-team-of-the-year-the-winners/ Best CM - Salis Abdul Samed "One of the key players who may have gone under the radar in Lens’ impressive campaign is summer recruit Salis Abdul Samed. The former Clermont man has more than managed to fill the Cheick Doucouré-shaped hole left in Franck Haise’s squad, and embodies the selfless nature of the team’s all-action approach. The Ghana international summed up his progress this season in an interview with GFFN: “Before, I would win the ball back and pass it along – now, when I win the ball back, I can also bring it up the pitch myself, I’m more confident in that regard. I really feel free in the way I play here.”RJ"
Hull have submitted a 5m bid for cannon according to Pete O’rourke at footy insider, doesn’t get much wrong
Especially if we want to maintain an aggressive press all season. I think if we sign this lad itll be to compete with what we already have rather than replace a 1st team. He is likely to replace adil or ekwah
