Unless we're the only club who are offering money and they think we'll go elsewhere (like towards Simic and Mendy) if they don't accept the bid.

As risky for them to wait as it is for them to accept the bid.

On the other hand, if he's not going to play, and isn't being paid peanuts, they won't want him there after the deadline.

Was always shields for me in its heyday in the 80s, always hated going into Newcastle and can honestly say I can count on 1 hand how many times I've been there. ( Usually tuxedo princess) Even though I'm a geordie I've always preferred Sunderland for a night out

Must admit I just wish we could get something over the line and get back to concentrate and build on the start - just a massive distraction and it inevitably concerns fans when other clubs are getting deals over the line and we seem to drag on

I honestly don't think they are going to get one.

Sheff utd don't have the funds and their takeover still isn't through, that's why they wanted a loan to buy

Stoke said they only wanted a loan and have been reported not to fancy the fee

    Norwich ruled themselves out

Luton maybe but they have morris and adebayo.

We are the only club in this race who need a main man and have actually offered not far off the 7m they want to recoup

And I'm sure he'd be more than interested coming to a club that's totl and where he knows will be the main cf

Unbelievable what a bad week or so can do.

They looked like they would romp the league after their first two games, and then a mass exodus started.

Of course, but clubs get desperate. Look at Cannon and Stewart last year for example, both injured but went for huge fees because of how close to the deadline it was.

I think Burnley may go in for him, wouldn't be surprised to see Leeds linked, if Sheff Utd sell Hamer they may come in with a permanent offer, Hull wouldn't surprise me.

We've made the first move now we just have to wait.

Worked for Forest, and Ipswich did pretty much go straight from L1 to PL so stands to reason they've not had a lot of time to plan ahead.

How are we sitting waiting though? We have launched a bid for Cannon and no doubt negotiating and we have been in talks with Simic. Stuff will be going on

I never thought Parker would want to be in the industrial NW tbh ...

... if he keeps twisting they'll have to sack him and bring someone like Alex Neil.

    That would be funny.

Don't think there'll be any "sit and wait" going on. Our very recent history tells us that the days of us having our pants pulled down are well and truly over.
