I hope the paper over track like that all season mate! People having a negative opinon or in some cases making negative stuff up and then posting it on here like it's a fact is really boring like! I'm not arsed about the coaching situation as I choose to believe what the head coach is saying when he says he would rather wait then hire someone for the sake of it. And on the striker front I'm concerned and thought we would have someone in by now but I'm not blaming Speakman for that as you can guarantee they trying to get someone in but it hasn't happened yet. If wasn't for mbappe takeover we probably would have sorted it already.
Why on earth would Speakman prioritise the careers and progression of Dodds and Proctor over his own? The suggestion just makes no sense at all.
No it's not that apparently Speakman is such a narcissist he will happily put people in place that will see the club relegated and on turn him fail at his job as long as they say yes to him! It's like the old Speakman just wants someone who has the same ideas and opinions as him on how the club should do things! No ****ing **** mate, find me someone who hiring new staff and looking for someone who completely disagrees with them on how things should be done so they will clash regularly
Some interesting comments here “didn’t feel it was the right fit and was confused at why he was hired” “originally wanted an assistant but didn’t progress quick enough”
I still like him personally. Like he says just wrong place and time for him. The assistant bit is interesting. I wonder why it didnt happen for him. He was definitely up against it on the timing of his arrival. Worst possible time to join a new club as coach. Will keep an eye out on what he does next, but sounds like he is focussing on more important stuff.
You're absolutely right, the rest of the board did welcome 'Chuppa Chupp' with open arms. You 'liked' his posts, he 'liked' yours and you seemed to appear at exactly the same time. I took quite some stick off people for questioning his authenticity, you defended him and then he vanished exactly as I said he would. I expect you'll be claiming I've chased another valuable poster off the boards.
If he had someone he wanted, who was available, he'd have been here from the start. However, he sacked before he could bring someone in, the point is that Sunderland were open to it ... ... which contradicts the claims that they'd refused it and only wanted Dodds & Proctor.
A coach finding a way to coach different techniques to a young player - it's almost like he knows what he's doing! https://www.wearesunderland.com/new...D2qw_aem_lHsX2Ss4zLb8yCSrtLqH0g&sfnsn=scwspmo
Great article, it's noticeable that Speakman likes players who aren't 'specialists' ... ... as we found with Stewart, if you build a team/system around a player who's subsequently injured it's a massive blow. As we are now we have three or four who could cover Clarke or Roberts and players like O’Nien and Hume who you'd trust in various positions. Jobe could play as a central forward while Browne sat behind him imo, particularly in tough away games. Isidor looks adaptable as well ... ... it's only Mendy who looks like a one position player and he might well not come
2 in the league. Conceded in Europe Interesting that Lens have had a red card in each of their last 2 games
His Reims team had an appalling disciplinary record at the start of his tenure there too. Don’t know if he just gets his teams too fired up or demands too high of a level of aggression which takes time for them to temper and become more measured with.
I’m aiming to stay measured if I can. His success is a good data point that gives us encouragement regarding KS’s ability to pick a coach. He’s only got it really wrong once IMO - and I’d be willing to bet that the club had break clauses and one eye on a summer divorce if Beale had even made it that far.
I bet you still hold grudges from mixed infants Dodds and Proctor were left with no choice but to plough on with a season and players dead on their feet. Venus was thrown into the same situation at Birmingham, couldn't handle it, and they're now in the third division. Replacing Eustace, with Rooney, was a mistake but it happens, just as Rangers appointing Beale. However bad Beale was I think Speakman had earned some respect with appointing a manager no one had heard of. Time to move on in my opinion.
