In advance of the Oasis ticket sale on 31st August, Ticketmaster have announced that they've doubled their IT and customer support staff to deal with the demand.
Both employees are very excited although they will have to share a desk.

I've been ask by partners 17 years daughter and 22 year old son plus her sister to lay out the money tickets for Oasis.

Me and my partner have been to about 20 gigs since Covid including see Liam Gallagher twice and Noel once. They not once shown any interest in going to gigs with us. In fact her son told how much he hates guitar music.

Am I right to feel a bit peeved at this, to a point where I'm not sure I want to go.

Please tell me if I'm being out of order.

Hopefully they're not overly offended when you tell them to **** off and buy their own tickets...

Don’t gatekeep music, if you can afford it and can get tickets, then take the family and make some memories.

With any luck it might sort out the 22 year olds music taste, which clearly needs some work!

I think you are right to feel like that, I wouldn’t let it put you off though. Or particularly blame them. Oasis are massive (not SW standard, but close) and there’ll unfortunately be a lot of people jumping on the bandwagon.

It reminds me of when City got to the Playoff final against Bristol City. I was able to get tickets, but leading up to it felt furious that there might be people there who were just for the occasion, in place of proper die-hard supporters.

Do they know how much it is likely to cost you? Seems like a lot to spend out on what sounds like it might just be a whim on the kids part, they’ve got caught up in the media bullshit maybe. Your call though I’m afraid!

You're going to have to pay me a lot more than that to listen to them. Can I leave after the first song?

The last time I saw them, I actually went home after the second song.

It was at the Etihad Stadium and I'd supplied Oasis with the tour crew clothing and I'd taken all the poster sites at the stadium (everything from the small adverts in the bogs, to the big billboards outside, there was a couple of thousand of them), then they gave me **** tickets and I could barely see anything on stage, I was that pissed off I just went home.

They were probably my favourite band from around 16/17 to early/mid twenties. I listened to them all the time and was absolutely gutted when they split right in the middle of that time frame as I’d never seen them.

I still like them a lot but not sure I like them enough to pay for hospitality <laugh>

We’re a group of 6 that regularly go to gigs together so the 4 ticket limit will be interesting if any of us are successful. I’m preparing to have 4 less friends by Monday.

    Good for you.
Personally and not in an arrogant way but.paying £500-600 to have an amazing time is ok with me so I will pay it.
In my 20’s I’d blow £200 on a **** night done it plenty of times.

Yep, but x2 with the other half, then food, beer, hotels, that’s easy £1500 on a night. As much as I really would like to be there, that’s crazy money. Could do 2 major festivals all in for that.

im guessing I must be a least 10 years older than you… I had the pleasure of seeing them several times in the 90s biggest gig was somewhere in Scotland next to a loch. Epic.

they even played in Hull at the ice arena, early 2000s maybe.
Sadly I’m not old enough to have seen them at the Adelphi in the very very early days.

Good luck for tickets. If you & all your mates each try to get 4…..you might get lucky!!
