Not keen on Cannon. Managed 30 games and we basing it on him scoring a few in one run for Preston. I don’t see it. I think he be one of those that floats around the football league doing ‘alright’
Yeah no mention of our bid being accepted or rejected, the main part of the tweet is the invitation for other clubs to bid. I do think it'll be us vs Sheff Utd. I don't think Stoke will go that high and Norwich won't unless Sargent goes.
Cannon if we got him would be a very good signing. He’s a good striker at this level and is still young.
FWIW I’d have been dead keen on Cannon if we hadn’t been so closely linked to Simic. Simic felt like a massive elevation. Whereas Cannon just represents a good signing, not an out of this world one. £5m is a lot for a player with 10 career goals. He’s obviously only young and played little football. But it’s great to see us making proper bids, isn’t it?
Yeah simic is still the one for me, a good record at 20 and the fact his come through the red bull system so will fit our press it just seems the perfect fit
This by the way is why our good start is so important. Players like Cannon and others choosing between championship clubs will psychologically see us as promotion candidates now, even if three games in is way too early to be sure of that. If we’d lost to Burnley the whole picture would be different. others may disagree but I honestly don’t think it can be overstated the importance and benefit of this start.
I think Cannon would be outstanding. He's quick, strong and a decent finisher. The only concern is injuries but he'd be a tremendous signing.
100% mate. Not even a competition. I don’t see the attraction personally with the e eternal Cannon links. Nothing suggests to me he’s anything more than ‘half decent’
If the two were available I’d go for Benson, as Roberts is here now and looking fit and firing(ish) I think I’d stick.
