Good Morning. It's Monday 26th August, and here are the latest headlines from Elland Road

    Victory at Hillsborough

Goals from Brenden Aaronson and Dan James brought some much-needed positivity to the Elland Road faithful, (and their 3800 jubilant travelling fans), as Leeds recorded their first win of the season.

Back-to-back draws coupled with the departure of key personnel, have left large sections of Whites fans subdued and more than a little apprehensive about the season ahead. For the most part, Leeds looked well organised, difficult to break down, and lethal on the break. The cogs were finally turning in unison. It will be interesting to see how they get on against more difficult opposition.

Despite their strong start to their campaign (with a 4-0 win over Plymouth), Wednesday's lack of quality soon showed. They were over-reliant on their wing-backs, and an aging Barry Bannan to provide the goods, lacking any kind of bite. Danny Röhl's side have been widely tipped to do well this season; they'll need to improve ten-fold, if they are to avoid a relegation dog fight!

Leeds can't afford to stool on Chair bid

Leeds are plotting the capture of QPR's highly rated playmaker Ilias Chair, as the replacement for Georginio Rutter.

The Hoops will be desperate to keep hold of their star player. He has been a part of the furniture at Loftus Road since 2017, when he signed from Belgium outfit Lierse (for a nominal fee of £50,000). He is quickly closing in on 250 appearances for the West London side and has netted 34 times. His creativity

Leeds won't take QPR's objections sitting down! They have identified the 26yo Moroccan International as a direct replacement for Georginio Rutter who joined Brighton earlier this month. Leeds can't afford to stool. Marti Cifuentes will want time to find a replacement, but sofa Leeds are yet to make an offer.

Earlier this year, Ilias and his brother Jaber, were convicted of assaulting a truck driver with a rock, breaking his skull and leaving him unconscious. He was sentenced to 12 months in prison with a further 12 months suspended. Last month he successfully had his jail term reduced to 150 hours of community service and a fine of £1,345.

    Wober on the move?

Borussia Monchengladbach are in talks with Leeds about bringing Max Wober back to Borussia-Park before the end of the Summer transfer window.

The Austrian International showcased his quality, whilst on loan with the Bundesliga outfit last season, becoming one of the first names on their team sheet. Although he played a significant part, they are unwilling or unable to table a bid that comes close to Leeds expectations.

The 49ers want to clear £10m if they are to let Wober leave the club, which does not seem a lot for a player of his pedigree. Having seen the way Leeds Utd operate, Gladbach are taking the begging bowl approach.

If this does not work, their next enquiry will be a season-long loan with an option to buy (let's hope Leeds at least insert a compulsory purchase at a decent price, even if it means the Germans have to stagger payments over several years.

Mornin all, I'd take Ilias Chair in a heartbeat he is a quality championship player playing in a poor championship team. season after season he is noticed but maybe with his personal history teams are staying away. End of the day what he done was wrong and stupid but as a footballer he is a classy addition for this league. would I take the chance of course I would he wouldn't be to expensive for the player you getting. As on Wober this needs to end now and the club and player need to man up, Our side we hear we want to keep him and he wants to stay so its end of story right? we either tell the Germans to go do one and stay away or cough up the fee for a possible transfer is the only option. Going on loan makes no sense for us apart from freeing up wages we will then need to fill another hole. they have already had him for one season if they are that keen on him pay the fee if you can't afford him the club should make a statement he's not for loaning out to end the farce. Wendies game loved to see parts of our game returning and we were well on top. Not getting carried away though as the wendies were fekin awful and a team expecting a promotion push should of done exactly what we done.

Morning all. Wober will be gone and well get nothing. Ridiculous as there is money in German football. Should be playing hardball on that one. Thankfully final week of the transfer nonsense

Morning wrist slashers i take it you have all calmed down now we are still unbeaten. Honestly how some think the 49ers with their investment will not sign players is strange. How much would Leeds be worth if they sold it now. They would be lucky to get half of the total invested back. Don't forget they paid for a chunk of shares when rads owned us. Then they had to buy him out and purchase the stadium. It has been amusing to read the conspiracy theories but that's all.
It was a good weekend starting with the Wednesday win and then watching wakey take apart 1874 victoria from a league above in the FA Vase. They ground share at Barton and fate has given us a home draw v Barton next round.
Leeds will surely sign at least two more this week. If Wober goes (please go) then winger/mid and defender.
So put the razor blades away now and take the Samaritans off speed dial and remember it's just a hobby.

    Morning all

What a difference a week makes, a transfer over the line, a possibly top quality loan waiting to be confirmed, three points, clean sheet and played well, not to mention some decent names on the radar.

Wober I thought might excel at this level but his head has completely gone, can we get another CB in time as well as the other positions we’re looking to secure.

I’m with Eire, can’t wait to unstick the transfer sticky and get on with what we’ve got

    Good morning everyone
i just breathed a sigh of relief, that this season might not go the way i feared, a great result and most of all a performance (which i missed due to family commitments).
Feel a lot more positive this morning for reasons stated by Ristac above. Need to get a run going now beginning with Hull on Saturday. :emoticon-0157-sun:

Hull match will be crucial going into an International break and then hopefully giving Farke some extra time with the new arrivals.

Blackburn and Burnley play each other this weekend so someone above us is dropping points, maybe both with a draw

I’m pretty much with Wakey on the reaction to 49’s ownership(in the short term). No sense in them not investing.
I don’t believe any of the transfer rumours till they’re sighted in TA having their medical. Couldn’t understand fans reaction to business not being done earlier. I never believed we’d see much activity before our outgoings departed, meaning it was always likely to be towards the end of the window.
If the Solomon stories are true(haven’t seen any photos of him at TA), I’d be pleased with that, he scored a terrific goal against us for Fulham a few years back when we were in the Prem (yeah, who didn’t).
Think Chair, would be a good signing but again probably a click bait link.
We need defensive cover, even if Wober stays.

Solomon delay is due to Spurs and Leeds disagreeing on the financial side. The delay has alerted others and Solomon’s camp are open to him going elsewhere if need be

Lubjicic scored twice at the weekend in a 5-0 win, Leeds are said to have went back with an improved and final offer.

That’ll be Daniel Levy trying to get some of the Archie fee back, never mind that he got £1m loan fee for Spence from us and should have handed it back.

Pity we don’t and never had a Daniel Leavy type. Their players so they can do what they like

Daniel Levy has a reputation of being difficult to deal with and let's face it, the 49ers aren't exactly known to be quick either.

Someone has moved the goalposts. Wonder if something popped up in the medical and deal needs to be changed.

Medical all ok but the goalposts have been moved. All agreed before the medical but something on payment terms was dropped into the contract which Leeds objected to. Should have been done yesterday and announced but not looking likely now unless Spurs move.

We should be telling the Krauts to pay us a reasonable price for Wober, or **** right off. He's an international CB, and a good one too. Thinking you can get a £10m player for 2/6d & a bottle of gin is a damn cheek that should not be tolerated. But then, we are Leeds, So we'll probably pay them £5m to take him off our hands, even though we're already short at the back.

If they won't pay £10, they can pay £12m over 3 years
