Good point ref the WCC revenue .

I can’t see Alonso going anywhere , esp NOT RBR .

He is renowned for playing politics , he’s not done so yet at AM because I don’t think he sees anyone as a threat .

Put him in a team that has Marko , Horner and the thug , light the blue touch paper

    I don’t include Max in that .

Yes he is a spoilt brat , but I hold the other three responsible for that .

They should have slapped him down in the early day .

It’s to late now , and I reckon the the Three ****ateers like the situation .

What's the boot space like and could you get a car seat in. The back?

It's a 2 seater so you could put a baby on board sticker on the rear wing with Max's face on it

Perez can now not be within 100 points of the brat, because even if perez was to win at Spa he would be on 149 points and the child had a DNF he would remain on 265.
So,if RBR applied the clause in the Perez contract (within 100 points at the summer break) he`s gone.

Perez to remain with Red Bull after crunch talks
In a Monday meeting Red Bull has decided against replacing Sergio Perez during the summer break

Sergio Perez will remain Max Verstappen's Red Bull Formula 1 team-mate after the summer break, Autosport understands.

The Mexican's Red Bull future was one of the topics discussed on Monday in a meeting of the team's management, including team principal Christian Horner and advisor Helmut Marko.

But while there has been no official outcome of its team meeting, Autosport understands Horner has addressed the team's staff at its Milton Keynes factory saying Perez will be in the car when the 2024 season resumes with the Dutch Grand Prix at the end of August.

Alongside team-mate Verstappen, who has scored seven grand prix wins so far, Perez has found it much harder to wring performance out of Red Bull's RB20.

And with Red Bull's pace advantage disappearing, Perez's enduring struggles since May have opened the door for McLaren to mount a title challenge, with the Woking-based squad moving to 42 points behind in the standings.

After another difficult Sunday for Perez in Belgium, in which he dropped from second on the grid to eighth before being promoted to seventh following George Russell’s disqualification, his chances of remaining with the team appeared to dwindle, but it appears the 34-year-old has now been handed a lifeline to turn around his form.

Speaking on Sunday evening, Horner said: "What's frustrating is that nobody wants to see Checo struggle. Everybody wants to see him succeed, because it hurts seeing him in the situation that he is in.

"Nobody wants to make that decision, obviously you guys talk about it every day. But in the team we want to get him going."

PLUS: How Spa showed exactly why Red Bull must ditch Perez

After another frustrating race, Perez said he was done addressing incessant rumours about his future.

"I think we have too much going on in the team and a lot of things that we have to focus on, and we cannot waste any energy with all this speculation," he said.

"This is the last time I will speak about the future, so just to make it clear for everyone, I will not be speaking anymore. I will not answer any more questions about the future."

Disney, Telcel, Mobil, Claro, Nescafé and Kit Kat must be paying Red Bull huge amounts of sponsorship money.

Edit : Sad to see that someone is retained as a driver because of their commercial value and not their skill, also can't have a gifted driver upset the petulant brat

    Jonathan Wheatley off to Audi.

Red Bull losing some key talent everywhere it seems.

Max won’t extend beyond his current deal here, no question.

I like Jonathan Wheatley and he’s done an excellent job for RedBull over the last 20ish years, but this isn’t something that makes me think “the wheels are coming off” - it’s an amazing opportunity for him, similar to where Vowles went to Williams and I’m sure RedBull will hire or promote someone similarly excellent, who will also bring new ideas to the role.

Is it fair to assume the furore over Horners behaviour towards the female employee is now dead and buried? TBH I had forgotten about it but seeing the team changes brought it to mind.

It’s going to an employment tribunal I think, if so we’d be in the legal stage before that and we’ll won’t hear more unless it actually gets that far or they settle and that gets publicised.

Well, I make no secret of my dislike of Horner. I wish her all the best if it is tribunal. But the tribunal can't insist Horner is sacked, he has the support of management too. The lady has been offered a settlement and refused so this is now more a case of her proving her claims are true.
Purpose? To clear her name I assume. She may also have support of others to do this. She is reported to have stated her desire to stay in the sport, so clearing her name is crucial I guess and she may have an offer subject to her winning.
Irrespective, it is a stressful time for the underdog in this case but Horners reputation and possibly his marriage are at stake.
He is however, very efficient at being the baddy in the sport and we love a baddy to jeer at and hate.

So by coincidence (or not if you are in the know?) the appeal result was announced today and has once again cleared Horner. I think the tribunal is the next stage if she goes forward with her case.

Yeah, but it's who supports her and why that are questionable, I don;t think there was much in it tbh, imo it's part of the battle for control of the team since Dieter died.

    Interesting vid from Sky Sports

Seems to suggest that the rules have been clarified about asymmetric breaking. I wonder if this has anything to do with Red Bull's dip in form and Max saying his car isn't as responsive to turn in as it was!

For those that can't see the vid, basically the clarification states that you can't have any system or mechanism that enables different braking forces across an axle. i.e. you can't apply more breaking to an inside wheel to help turn in or extra force on an outside wheel to stabilise the car on corner entry.

It sounds like some teams may have been using the energy recovery and diff to control the breaking!

I read that after this weekends race Max as saying his car just didn't respond to steering inputs as swiftly as it used to. I can't imagine that he would be so open to almost admit they have had to change breaking systems due to the clarification but is it a coincidence?

Is the new rule clarification around asymmetric braking coinciding with RB’s sudden post-Miami loss of their performance advantage over all the top teams, not just McLaren. Not a difficult one to work out.
