Agreed. But as far as they are concerned, this maybe could be the plan playing out. Personally, I don't believe the plan was ever to bring this 3rd keeper in. Maybe Tim has asked for it, and thinks he needs better. It can't be the owner on a whim just wanting another.....right?....right?
So, after popping on yesterday and saying I was surprised to hear criticism about Darlow, it has just caused more ‘outrage’ that it might be Darlow. It probably won’t be. Not sure our fans would deserve a keeper who was consistent anyway - probably praised when he was here by the people who are complaining now. One of the reasons I remember liking him was because he didn’t overly f*** about at the back. He perhaps knew that a goalkeeper shouldn’t do that. Anyway, I’ll leave that there as my last word on the matter. Unless we sign him, of course! Hopefully we will hear winger and striker news in today’s round of gossip!
If it was Darlow, he can **** off back to leeds or newcastle, greedy twat didnt want to join us as he could get more money sat on his arse getting splinters at leeds.
I thought Pandur played well on Saturday and the previous league game, maybe our goalkeeping coach has been doing the job HE is paid for and worked harder with Pandur since pre-season.
The article suggests 2 right wingers A striker that will show everyone we are serious (PR bollocks to me) Meffert from Hamburg And one surprise of which Hull Live believe it’s a goalkeeper….
3 loans coming in, surprise gk, new striker will show how serious we are, Meffert probably coming in won't make anyone stay if they want to go as long as the club benefits as well, Fener won't distract him from city Maribor link will go well- mentions 17 year old he wanted to bring to city but couldn't get work permit so he's gone to westerlo karol borys Nothing we don't already know or baz hasn't already stretched into 6 articles.
Another keeper and an ageing centre back are well down my list of priorities I hope these are just a distraction while we're actually well on the way to signing a proven goalscorer who may or may not change the dynamic of the Championship
Hull City owner Acun Ilicali sat down with Hull Live to discuss all things transfers ahead of the final few days of the summer window, following the news the Tigers expect to be one of the busiest in the Championship. So far this summer, 10 new players have arrived while a host including Jacob Greaves, Jaden Philogene, Ozan Tufan and Jean Michael Seri have all left as part of a major summer shake-up which saw head coach Liam Rosenior leave and Tim Walter come in as his replacement. Those 10 arrivals are expected to be joined by another five or six in the coming days as City prepare for what looks like being a dramatic end to the window, which closes at 11pm on Friday night. Saturday's 0-0 draw with Millwall at the MKM Stadium was watched by Liam Cooper and Gustavo Puerta ahead of their potential moves to City, while Oscar Estupinan was there ahead of flying to Mexico to complete a move away. Speaking exclusively to Hull Live about the club's plans for the remaining days of the summer window, Ilicali explained how hoped to bring in a flurry of new faces to bolster Walter's squad, so here's a look at what he's said: On bringing in a new striker with Oscar Estupinan leaving? "The striker that we're going to bring will show everybody how serious we are in this league and again I thank our fans for believing in us. "Now they see step by step, that we started making a team not based on loan players but based on permanent players, so if we can get the striker that we want - the one I'm trying everything to do it, but it's not the easy thing - if we can get him, the whole league will understand how serious we are in trying to write a success story." Could there be more players heading out from the first team squad? "I always said that anybody who wants to leave, we will not put pressure on him and we're just trying to make all the players happy. For example, if a player gives everything to this team when it comes to his career and he wants to move, of course, if it is for the benefit of this club (we will let them go). We cannot set free the players for free, but if the club's benefits will be covered, I will not push any of my players to stay. "Look at Jacob Greaves, I could have kept him for two more months to sell him for more money, it would have been so easy, Jaden (Philogene) is the same, too, but that is not us, and we will not be like this and in the long term, everybody will see that this kind of approach from us will let us get more players. It's going to help us in the future because good people will always win." Can we expect Premier League loans? "Yes, of course. This is the cream of the transfer window and I think in the last maybe four days, three days, two days and hours will be exciting because we will keep three loan places available., so at least three loans will be done." How many more players do you expect? "At the moment, we are in the process of putting together the pieces of the puzzle. I think we've got 70 per cent of our puzzle done and there is 30 per cent left to do with some more players coming. "We are very happy with where we are and we're completely coordinating with our coach, with his approval and of course, his advice, we're bringing in some players. I would say that we will sign two or three permanent players and three on loan, so I'm expecting five to six more players before the window shuts. "I think there will be two right-wingers, one more striker, a midfielder and then there will, I think, be a surprise for our fans. Our fans will be surprised (by the identity of the other player which Hull Live understands will be a goalkeeper), but I'm always happy that they believe in us and they will know how focused we are to make this team stronger, our recruitment in January showed that." How close is a move for Hamburg's Jonas Meffert? "Yes, we are interested in him (Meffert). Tim wants him, especially, for his philosophy. He says that he's a very important player, and what is important for Tim is important for us, so we want to see him in our team. If everything goes well, I think we will see him at Hull City, very probably in a few days." How is the relationship developing with Maribor? "Maribor are a very good team, of course, it's going to be bigger and bigger. It's a beautiful city and beautiful fans. We will always use the advantage of Maribor, for example, the star of the Under-17 World Cup (Karol Borys). "We could get his interest, but, unfortunately, we couldn't get him here because of the (work permit) rules, so he went to Belgium (Westerlo). I want our fans to follow him because, with him, a big star can come in the near future. His name is Karol Borys (Polish attacking midfielder). He's 17 years old and he played the last four or five games in Maribor and in the Europa Conference League, he's a very good boy." How much are you looking forward to the buzz of deadline day? "We are having some calls from big clubs at the moment, but we haven't been able to find the correct players just yet but there are some opportunities and things have started to move. "Everybody knows that Hull City are now the number one Championship club to develop players because we showed it with the players that have gone this summer to play in the Premier League (Greaves, Delap, Carvalho, Philogene). "This makes many players warmer to us when it comes to negotiations, and I have personally been involved in most of them, especially for the last 15 to 20 days. This is the main element I use in the process of talking to the new players and it really works." This has been a hard summer personally, and with so much going on away from the MKM Stadium, are you still enjoying owning Hull City? "As you and my fans know, my life is I think, one of a kind in the world. It's extremely busy, I always say it to my friends. My work in Fenerbahce is not going to take more than 20 per cent of my life. This club (Hull City), the fans and everybody here is my life at the moment. Now what we are trying to do is, of course, make a better team. "Life is so hard. I was in a meeting in one part of Turkey, I flew to Istanbul, then came here. Then I'm going to go back to Istanbul, then fly two hours to East Turkey for an away game of Fenerbahce and come back. This is the life I'm living now, but I have to underline something. "I enjoy it, of course. I mean, this is why I prefer this life because I enjoy it. This is not like I'm complaining that there is too much work for me, no, I enjoy every minute. I'm proud to have a team in England and I'm proud to have such a beautiful team in England. "I was a fan of Fenerbahce when I was five years old, and now I'm the vice president. This is another honour for me, so I think I'm lucky in life after the first part of my life (when he lost both his parents), the second part I really enjoy. "Whenever I come here, I'm in heaven. I feel the energy of this town, this city with all the people, the lovely people and everywhere is green. I'm coming from a city with 22 million people (Istanbul) to here with such a nice place, it's like therapy for me, all of the time." What's your final message to the fans going into transfer deadline week? "They will see on the pitch a team that they will be proud of. I guarantee them that they will be proud of this team this year and no matter what happens, which position we finish in the league, we will enjoy the football together this year. "We will enjoy the wins and share the losses with our people, so that's what I love about the city of Hull. When we lose, we lose all together and when we win, we all win together. We are one family and we have one dream."
If I was Darlow I'd have been tempted to do the same thing...Earn say 40% more at Leeds and sit on the bench, or sign for City, play week in and week out and get pelters from the fans when things go tits-up. No contest.
Not like he is a City fan either. It’s just a job to him. I wouldn’t turn down a 40% pay rise to do **** all except train and sit on a bench week on week and I suspect none of you would either.
Darlow is nothing more than a solid keeper But hes not good at playing from the back especially how big tim wants to And he will not be cheap even if them lot pay 70% of his wages Id rather we spent the money on A hot air balloon or something equally as pointless Infact a hot air balloon with city logo on Would be far less pointless than karl benchy darlow
He goes from Going To to Trying Everything to If. It's all a bit Definitely Maybe. I'll believe it when Oasis reform.
