Did you look him up? Everybody of a mature age and wise disposition remembers Tomaszewski, Brian Clough's petulant put down when he called him a clown. Not to mention Derek Dougan then telling Clough off. Now there's a few names from the past

As Marti said, we are a team in transition and I totally believe that's true. We've had a lot of changes over the last couple of seasons, now even more with new players and especially keeper.

I actually think we'll be a good team when we get going. I'm still very excited about this season.

The happy-clappy Kool-Aid remains strong, it seems. No negativity permitted.

I thought we were poor yesterday, particularly in the first half after the sending off. We started brilliantly but soon sat back, even against ten men, which was bewildering. The change to 4-4-2 in the second half was welcome and changed the emphasis, but our failure to score from almost total possession was very disappointing, to say the least. I just don't understand the blind devotion to Cifuentes. We played a team that are among the favourites for relegation and who were down to 10 men for an hour. We should have won the game, but didn't.

On the plus side, we've made some exciting signings. Saito was disappointing yesterday, but Dembele was electric and Madsen looks to me like a very good player, too. I remain worried about the centre-forward options, though. I would have liked to have seen Dykes get a chance with some proper service, but he's off it seems. Frey - who did ok yesterday - is not the answer, and Celar hasn't shown enough yet to indicate that he might be, which is a worry. Hopefully, he'll find his feet in this league, but an obvious lack of pace and a seeming reluctance to put himself about doesn't bode well, in my opinion.

    I know, heresy.

Some fair points and I agree with the majority. I don't think there is blind devotion towards Marti but there is a lot of improvement from those dark days under Ainsworth. Cifuentes is a modern manager in a modern game. Already he's changing the way we play and there's a real positive feeling about moving forwards. He shouldn't be beyond criticism, as any manager or player shouldn't. If we are willing to praise then we should also be willing to criticise. We all have opinions, there are one or two that I personally wouldn't select in the starting line up, others maybe would. This is a project that's moving forwards.

Not heresy. Just the same problem that affects many who watch and who own the clubs. Wanting instant success and when we don't get it venting.at particular players You should know better. After all this is QPR. As for the point about total possession but failure to score did we not do exactly the same in the match at Loftus Road last season? The difference is that then we still had Beale who has now been well and truly found out as someone who fails when results don't go his way. Now we have Cifuentes. It's not blind devotion, at least not for me, but I do believe he is a much better manager than the Snake will ever be and we won't have a repeat.

Absolutely correct. Through on goal and shot on target saved. Very good runs with some decent crosses. I thought he had a good game.

Not heresy but it seems true that we are making progress.
Yes, we should have won but last season's team would not have mustered ten shots on target.
Morinho used to say a ten man team is hard to beat (they feel the injustice, get fired up etc) and that's another factor.
There's also the QPR thing of playing to the oppositions level. So we draw with Plymouth twice last season but beat Burnley and Leeds.
    Onwards.

Apologies. You're obviously not as old as either Stroller (as he didn't notice or more likely was too polite to point out) or me. My memory of the last two years as a QPR fan is obviously too painful

I didn’t need to look him up. It’s still imprinted on my mind, together with all the shots we missed that night.
