Booked turkey again, alanya this time, 10days on the 26th Flights and hotel came to just over a grand so reasonably cheap for a 4star right on the coast, went for breakfast only deal as we like exploring and eating out and the locations good there's some caves I wanna canoe through that are close by also some big 4th century red tower thing, a water park we'll probably hit and an aquarium place that lest you swim with dolphins (something she's always wanted to do) I'm not fussed it's just a big fish innit. Might do some quad biking in mountains this time too, a mates just back from there and said it was a brilliant few hours with fantastic views
Off on a cruise next week round the canaries. Did the same cruise last year and did one round the med in the summer. Going to do a med one again next year. Though want to do the Greek islands and not do anywhere historic. As last year the amount of walking we did in Dubrovnik and split was mental in 35 degree heat. Dubrovnik was an incredible place mind as was Malta.
I thought I’d hate it. There are parts of it which I do hate. Which is generally the other people on the ship. the benefits and good bits far outweigh the negatives. Plus you can escape the twats. my issue is I smoke so tend to stick to the bar where I can smoke. My biggest gripe was I’d find myself a nice little spot beer and my book and my own ashtray. Then ****s would just lean across me to stub their ***s out without saying excuse me / do you mind if I use the ashtray. As you like good food the food is exceptionally good. We have only done P&O but am thinking of doing Royal Caribbean next year on a bigger ship. Only issue is there will be Americans . Which are far more likely to piss me off than Tina from Scunthorpe leaning across me. I get up really early when on board as well as like to be up on the decks at sunrise when you pull into a port. Much better than your standard hotel resort holiday as you get to visit different places. Definitely give it a go. I will never do a resort holiday again. Not that I do many of them as usually just get a villa in Spain. Though my family have sold the one they used to rent out so I don’t get preferential deals anymore..
Did royal carribean this year and did a MSC one in 2015. I heard royal carribean was meant to be more upmarket (might be due to getting more bang for their buck) but was seriously disappointed by the food selection from royal carribean. The buffet food was pretty mediocre, the sit down food was really good and a real treat. What i didn't like was the very restrictive times on the buffet food (pizza and sandwiches open all day). At MSC they had most of the buffet leftovers thorughout the day and a lot larger fruit selection. The activities on the royal carribean were really good though. MSC was pretty poor but theres so much more to do on RC so if you are generally younger or have families, i RC is much better. As for cruises themselves, they are okay, never really been on a resort holiday but i imagine the cruise is far better, it's a moving resort and like you said loads of different places to see. Myself personally, i don't mind a cruise with family but would never do it myself or just with the missus, i prefer to go to a place and explore it and go at my own pace. The cruise visiting of main sites is a bit too restrictive to me and all the getting on and off is a hassle. Chinese people in general probably love this though as its a see as many places as you can.
I heard MSc is **** unless you want to eat pasta and pizza all day. P&O is very British. Always roast things. Indian curries and Chinese food on offer. Fine dining is really good. The pay extra restaurants are also brilliant. Paid £6 for a 16oz rib eye on a salt stone. my folks who are old fuds loved RC. Hated MSc. Hated tui. Ive only done P&O . Biggest issue is being full of brits
Well the holiday was an unmitigated disaster. Mrs fainted on the plane on the way there. Smacked her head on the way down. Had to wait for ambulance when we landed. Me stood there like a twat on the runway whilst the mrs was in the ambulance. She ended up with a black eye the following day so spent the whole time looking like I’ve knocked her about. Then penultimate day I needed emergency dental as cracked a wisdom tooth. So ended up having the ****er removed and couldn’t eat for two days. Flight back was awful and the drive home even worse as got flashed by a speeding camera. Next holiday will get a ship out of Southampton I think.
Nah not having that like. Finding myself agreeing with @Sucky a lot these days. If it lives in water, it’s a ****ing fish. End of.
Nor are lobsters, crabs or jellyfish. (despite the name) So no saf, everything in the water is not a fish.
